Default All Greddy TT owners please respond!!

I am in the market for a TT kit. I am leaning towards the Greddy Kit. I have heard rumblings about the kit failing or not being up to standard. I would like to hear from all the current Greddy TT owners about your experiences with the kit, good and bad. Thanks in advance!!

Somebody chime in and help me out here.

There were problems with the first batch of kits. From what I understand those issues have been addressed in subsequent kits.

The biggest problem was exhaust manifold gaskets. These gaskets were composed of metal and paper, not very solid. They were causing exhaust leaks in the system.

There are some other gotchas on the kit, but a competent installer should be able to compensate. One of the gotchas, I believe, is the location of the turbo and it's proximity to the power steering return line.

There was also a potential problem with the exhaust manifold bolts being a little too short.

If you have an installer, then the install should go fine. No reliability issues that I have encountered so far.

Any one else want to speak to this?

As bini mentioned, there were a few problems with the first batches. However, i believe these problems have been fixed. The gaskets have been replaced with metal ones. THe bolts on my manifolds were a little short but my installers did an excellent job on fixing these minor problems. whoever will be installling the kit should know what they are exactly doing. That way if they see something that doesnt fit, thye should be able to find a way to modify it. The power steering line on the passenger side turbo should be bent a little since this will cause the turbo to rub against the line and cause it to melt.
This happened to me and had to replace the line. Also the wastegate gaskets should be replaced with metal ones. The ones that greddy supplies are cheap and will burn out after a while as mine are right now.
Other than that i am happy with the kit. The performance is awesome. No regrets at all.

I have been more than satisfied with the Greddy TT. No problems.
This is in large part due to the shop personnel who installed the kit. If you can locate a reputable shop that has already installed the GReddy on a Z, you're ahead of the game.

Basically you want to make sure your gaskets are metal, that your power steering lines are bent away from hot parts, that your oil return lines are bent away from any electrical ground (or it will start a fire), and that your installer does a good job with all the bolts and seals and connections.

Good luck.
