Default rasing boost / road tuning

Post about misc.
As I posted a couple weeks ago, I have dyno tuned my z, and have about 50 runs, collecting data.

Last week or so, I have been road tuning my z, with labtop and e-01.
I record my runs with the e-01, logging a/f, boost, and rpm's
And with GReddy support tools, tracing the fuel cells.

Started off doing 2nd gear pulls, getting the A/F just right, then moving to 3rd gear pulls, then 2nd and 3rd together.
Then 4th.
I am aiming for 11.5 accross the board. When I am at this #, it pulls so much harder.
Found out in my dyno tunes, that running leaner (12.0) didn't give me more power, so I am staying in the 11.5 range.

I still have some tweaks to do to my Map in higher boost, because after recording near perfect runs (1-4 th gear) with A/F @ 11.5, I later in the day recorded as I was driving, and getting on it, and by A/F went lean, to low 12's.
Going to log by fuel pressure on my e-01 the next time out, to see if I can see any fluctuation in that..

I have to write. I have been hammering on the car. I mean really really hard. Back to back runs. 100 degree heat/humidity.
8-9 lbs of boost (hit 11.5 lbs of boost once, when playing with my boost settings, luckly I have fuel dumping in like crazy up high, and my A/F was in the 10's)
And this motor has taken it all.
I keep reading about blown engines, and weak rods, not enough air in the front cyl.
Is it possible everyone one of these problems was just not enough fuel ?

Oh I want to comment on one thing about my boost settings in the e-01, that is different then others.
Maybe someone may have an idea why it is like this.

In manual boost mode, I have mine set to
8%
10 gain
4 start
This gets me to 8 lbs

Others have to have theirs to 25% to get theirs to 8lb range.
Which sounds accurate. Wastegates set to 5.5, add 25%, gets them to7/8.
Why on mine, only 8% ? (10% gets me to 9.5 boost)
Only thing I can think of is my wastegates are set different ? (amount of tension they came pre set at)
Anyone see this to, that is rasing boost on their GReddy kit, or have a suggestion on why it is ?

The scary thing about the manual boost setting is the variability of the boost level in different gears or under different loads. Since a turbo is more "load dependant" rather than "rpm dependent", you will end up with a different boost level in each gear. Have you noticed that?

The manual mode is OK for tuning and testing in one particular gear, becuase it's faster to make little adjustments on the fly. But eventually, I'd switch back to the auto mode, which will make adjustments to your boost level depending on load...and keep you without your target preset boost level. It's not perfect either, but much better than the manual mode in my opinion...for daily driving.

Expect for joenismo, to my knowledge, all of the other Greddy blow-ups were on shittttty 91 octane CA fuel. That certainly could contribute to the problem.

Some of the cars that blew up still had upgraded fuel pumps, so not sure if lack of fuel was an issue...could be.
