alright... i have it all tuned out right now... car is VERY VERY hot from doing back to back pulls on the dyno in this hot weather.

Basically the 435rwhp at 7.5 psi was rich off the scale until around 5900RPM then it came back inline. I got the extra fuel in the midrange out and have the car running a clean 11.5:1 thru the whole pass. Peak power has not gone up, cause the tuning is essentially the same at that RPM.

The only thing is not I am only hitting 415rwhp at this 7.5 psi... so its either from all the heat soak or I melted something.

I am letting it cool down now and in about 30 min I will let it get up to normal operating temp and try it one more time.

Hopefully the tune wont change by much... its being consistent on the back to back pulls, but im affraid that once it cools down a lot it might lean out since the ECU will think its a little safer to do so. If thats the case, I can move the whole thing richer again with a little more fuel pressure and hopefully keep the flat line I made.

its heat soak, I went through the same thing on my dyno tune day.
Get it tuned were we wanted it, and next run lost 15-20 HP
Had to let it cool down.

What is your boost settings ? (manual or auto, start, gain etc)

What is that box that all your vacume hoses go into ?
Pressure sensor ?
Haven't seen one like that...

allright im done. its up to 435rwhp and 399lb ft on clean runs. it is pretty inconsistent thanks to heat soak and the stock ECU.

I think its getting closer to FCON day after spending a couple hours on the dyno with this thing.

Hey Tim, the black box is part of the HKS EVC Boost controller if I remember from memory.

OK guys... I have been testing this setup for a few hundred miles now and I have decided that I no longer geel its the best solution. It needs a catchcan because there are no baffles in the tank so its not working out at low gas levels.

We are working on a new solution and are actually looking into plastic injection molding our final solution with twin pumps. We have connections with the injection molding so we can make this happen if we feel that the next thing we come up with is the final end all solution.

Charles, Again, I have absolutely no problems, with the stock fuel pump assemble & valve, with 255 pump.

Supporting my fuel all the way up to 11 psi, with no fuel pressure drop.

ACP: I cannot work with the stock assembly since I need to eventually get twin pumps in the tank. I have a fully built motor with head work and cams going in soon and a single walbro 255 isnt going to take me where i need to go.

Well if you get to the point you feel you need more fuel, you could just add another inline pump, like SKiDaZZLe did (and the other Jotech installed kits)
But those that have built bottom ends, are only using 1 255 pump, with the return line system like ours.

Yes, stock internals.
The 11 + psi was an accident. But have ran a few times at 10 lbs, when making my map, and no problems.
I belive the ones blowing their engine didn't have enough fuel, and run lower octane gas.

I will be back to the dyno with these boost levels, when I install the J&S SafeGuard, and temp is cooler

i personally prefer the pumps to be in the tank... to each their own I suppose.

The twin pump assembly looks compelling, especially if its complete with return fitings, lines, and the like. Beyond 600whp, another pump or ONE bigger pump will certainly be needed. I like the concept of dual Walbro 255 since they are inexpensive, and at least you have one as a backup if one fails.

Phunk,
I have well over a thousand miles on my return setup now. No low fuel issues have occured yet and I don't understand what could go wrong. What are your issues at lower fuel levels? I am using the stock assembly as well and the return line is located on the passenger side. I also have plugged the so called stock fpr and have had good results so far. I am curious to hear what kind of problems you are having. What I find is that my setup now has too much fuel at stock pressure levels.

Mike, the problem I have at lower fuel levels is losing fuel pressure around turns or hard acceleration cause I currently have no baffles in the tank or a catch can for the pump.

The stock assembly has a catch can, which is why you dont have any problems.

I was expecting these problems since I never did put a catch in there yet. Ill take care of it later Ill let you guys know what I work out.
