Default emanage problem

well today i hooked up a usb wire to my emange to the eo-1 and when i turned the ignition to the on position it flased a screen saying update and i clicked yes so 5 mins later it updated somthing on the emange what it was i have no clue. so next thing i try to do is intiallize the emage so i can start programming it but right away it jus say comunnication error. the emange liged is alternating green yelow and red continuasly. i unplugged the usb cable turned the igtion key to on and it still alternates these colors. what does this mean. it wont communicate and these stupid lite wont stop alternating. i even unplugged the emanage for a few minutes plugged it back in and turn the ignition on but it still changes colors continuslly.

Sorry ppw -

you are not the first person to wipe out the E-Manage
Program with the E0-1

It is a Logic error in the E0-1 Of course in Hindsight the answer
is NO..

The EO-1 is still empty and has a blank map..

The first thing you need to do is get a Program image in your E-Manage. Do you have these programs on your LapTop?

Hook up your LapTop to the E-Manage -
This requires the Optional Software and Serial to USB cable..

Load latest program.

Then restore any custom Fuel / Timing maps.. I hope you saved them..

This will get you back to where you were before you inserted
the EO-1 - The lights will not alternate..

----------- test car ----
Later when you boot up with the (empty) EO-1
( say NO to Update question this time )

you can retrieve the code and maps from the E-Manage to
the EO-1

The EO-1 will at that point in time - have some intelligence..

Make changes in the EO-1 maps and save them to the E-Manage

There are two or three fellows on the board with the skills to do
this..

GQ_626, 350Now and perhaps Wld350Z ( out of town this weekend )

Kenji at Greddy ( come Monday Morning.. )

With zero program and zero maps - the car can run barely
and dumps mass fuel -

Sorry - wish I had learned how to do this.. when GQ_626
bailed us out earlier this year..

Amy -

I hope you have a backup on your LapTop...

PPW

You have an "Empty" E-Manage...
You will need a Greddy Serial Cable.. Software..

If you don't have a LapTop.. You will need to set up a PC next to the Car..

I have a call in to Jeff (350NOW) and Sharif (GQ_626) to have them check your status.. Check PM often...

I suggest you PM them.. Also they have the Instant Messaging
form of communication... I'm not set up for that...

Worst case to Fedex Sharif the E-Manage and have him
reload 1.39 EM Release and a Stock Fuel map..

Also - E-Manage related JMENDES check your PM..

Smile PPW - have you got any feedback ?

PPW - how are you doing?

Did you get any help from

GQ_626, 350NOW or Kenji at Greddy?

Cheers Amy -

That is good, at least now you have a modifyable emanage.

whem...glad it worked out. I was out of town this past weekend at HIN Atlanta. Yummie....lots of little biscuits everywhere!

The Eo-1 is kinda weird like that. Not sure why it tries to update the eMange with a BLANK MAP...what kind of crap is that?

Hey 03_ppw350z,

Glad you got it to work. I was also out of town in Las Vegas this weekend. That is crap that the E-01 will ask you to update with empty maps. Like westpak mentioned you now have an unlocked e-manage. You can fine tune your fuel map now.

i just recieved my pressure harness to tune by boost any of you done this yet besides acp? i was looking at the grid and it looks like you can tune by greddy sensor voltage ,kpa,or kg. which one of these would you use? also if you look at the grid and translate the kpa numbers to psi it lloks somthing like this: 2.9psi, 5.8psi, 8.7psi, 11.5psi, 14psi, 17.4psi, 20.3psi, 23.2psi, 26.1psi. i thought it would be every psi you can tune but it jumps like that.

I would suggest using the Relative Pressure (kPa) setting. Change the scale to customize it for what range you want.

PSI kPa

1 -> 6.89
1.02 -> 7
2 -> 13.79
2.03 -> 14
3 -> 20.68
3.05 -> 21
4 -> 27.58
4.06 -> 28
5 -> 34.47
5.08 -> 35
6 -> 41.37
6.09 -> 42
7 -> 48.26
7.11 -> 49
8 -> 55.16
8.12 -> 56
9 -> 62.05
9.14 -> 63
10 -> 68.95
10.15 -> 70
11 -> 75.84

It's almost 1:7 so you could use the following and be good

PSI kPa
1 -> 7
2 -> 14
3 -> 21
4 -> 28
5 -> 35
6 -> 42
7 -> 49
8 -> 56
9 -> 63
10 -> 70
11 -> 77

I am waiting on my harness as well, but I am too lazy to tune so I bought Tim's MAPS and the car runs great, once I put in the harness and Wideband I will go to dyno, should be next week.

I have the harness installed but haven't found the time to see what it can do yet.

What you use for the left column doesn't matter, it is the values in the fuel cells that matter.

If you don't want to use kPa, you could use kg/cm2...

PSI kg/cm2
1 -> 0.07
2 -> 0.14
3 -> 0.21
4 -> 0.28
5 -> 0.35
6 -> 0.42
7 -> 0.49
8 -> 0.56
9 -> 0.63
10 -> 0.70
11 -> 0.77

or you could use mmHg

PSI mmHg
1 -> 52
2 -> 103
3 -> 155
4 -> 207
5 -> 259
6 -> 310
7 -> 362
8 -> 414
9 -> 465
10 -> 517
11 -> 569

I don't know what the GReddy sensor puts out for voltage so I can't do a conversion, but it you want to map by pressure, any of the 3 (kPa,kg/cm2,mmHg) will do, they are all the same thing, just expressed in different units. Nothing top secret there.

The real trick is finding the right values to enter for the fuel cells in the map, which means a lot of dyno/road time or maybe purchasing a pre-made map.

Well, I have the pressure sensor harness and the wideband installed and thge car is running great, very responsive before boost as before it felt a ittle sluggish and the boost kicks in nicely and pulls hard.

The AF ratio stays between mid 10's and mid 11's and has not gone higher than 11.7

I will go to the dyno next wednesday to see where I am at in HP but feel peace of mind with the wideband in.

Glad to hear you are back up and running. You mentioned that you flashed the firmware to 1.39? You didn't, by chance change any of the rotary dials on the front, did you? If you didn't, then you are in good shape. The information from GReddy originally was that you needed to set the dials to 7-0-B for the 1.39 firmware, but that is incorrect. They need to be set to 7-0-1.

I'll hopefully begin tuning my N/A Z this week since I FINALLY got my wideband delivered this morning. Woo Hoo!!
