Default Greddy Profec E-01

Hey I am shopping for the E-01. I guess none of the tuner shops around here will tune my car without the E-01. I found a couple of sites to buy the E-01 for 490. I dont think that comes with anything else. What else is recommended that I get to go with the E-01? I was thinking the pressure sensor and harness, anything else? And will the E-01 display my A/F gauge? I want to use it like a A/F wideband. thanks, Tim

Lots of folks around here get their Greddy stuff from www.mohdparts.com--and for good reason: he's inexpensive, quick to answer email, and quick to ship.

You already have the eManage, right? I'm assuming that you're obviously already wired with the RPM and injector harnesses since you have the Greddy kit. What is your plan for timing retard? If you want to take care of that via eManage you'll need the ignition harness and a set of diodes.

The Profec E-01 comes with a pressure sensor but you'll need the external signal harness if you have a separate A/F wideband such as the AEM. You'll also need the USB cable that connects the E-01 to the eManage and optionally the pressure sensor harness that pipes the boost reading from the E-01 back to the eManage.

Someone can jump in and correct me if I'm wrong

So the E-01 comes with the pressure sensor? Is that gonna give me the AF read out? That is where I am going to order my E-01. And yes I already have the E-Manage that came with the TT kit. I dont need to buy another AF gauge do I? I thought the E-01 can display the AF readings?

The e01 comes with a pressure sensor.

Optional things:
Pressure sensor harness (to connect to emanage and send boost signal to emanage)
Signal harness (to connect up to 3 or 4 signals, I have the wideband 02 sensor connected to it)
USB Cable (to connect e01 to emanage so you can program emanage)

You can connect the e01 to the RPM harness that came with the kit so you can display RPM's on the e01, the e01 can read a lot of things with the signal harness and log data, you just can only display 3 of them at a time.

Thanks, and you have a seperate AF gauge connected to the E-01? What is recommeded that I get though to actually tune the TT kit correctly and read everything that needs to be read. Sorry for being such a noob, you guys are very helpful.

One more thing, what is the E-Manage knock sensor? Should I get it or not, and what is it made for? Make it easier and list all the parts that I need to tune my car correctly thanks!

Couple of clarifications:

The e-01 will display the RPM and all the other emanage inputs and outputs via the USB cable. You won't have to connect the RPM adaptor to the Profec.

The optional signal harness can only accept TWO analog inputs. Analog inputs are things like A/F gauges, fuel pressure sensors, etc..etc...linear voltage based sensors.

The pressor sensor harness isn't needed, unless you plan on tuning via pressure, instead of MAF voltage. The base greddy map is based on MAF voltage.

The Profec can display three inputs on the screen, but it will log ALL of them, so you can review and toggle between the various inputs for review

The only thing you need for your tuning purposes are the Profec e-01 Boost Controller, a cheap A/B USB cable, some kind of wideband A/F guage (I like the AEM wideband), the external signal harness (so you can log and view the A/F in the profec), and the ignition timing harness. You will also need some diodes from Radio Shack so you dont fry the coils with that that timing harness. The profec is not an A/F guage...but it will DISPLAY the A/F readings of your wideband guage.

Just make sure you take your car to a competent and experienced tuner, and someone who has tuned with the eManage before. Good Luck!

shouldnt the E-Manage come with the ignition timing harness already? I thought it did maybe I am wrong. Okay I have the E-01, external signal harness, and USB cables on my shopping list from mohdparts.com. So I need some kind of wideband AF gauge too? Anyone know a cheap wideband AF gauge that I can buy? I am looking for a 52mm so it will fit the A-Pillar gauge pod that I will have to buy. Thanks

You might as well get the pressure thingy from the Profec to the eManage so that you can (down the road) use boost-based maps if you so desire. What's another $20?!

As you are no doubt discovering, going F/I does not come cheap. There always seems to be something else that needs to be purchased or changed for each modification you make. I am using the AEM wideband A/F. You can find them here:

Default Cheap Wideband setup

The absolute cheapest Wideband setup you will find is the Zeitronix Zt-2. It's only $279 for everything you need. It does not come with a gauge (you have to purchase it seperately), but if you are going to hook the output signal into the E-01, then you don't really need their gauge. I just got mine and after working out some installation bugs, it works great.

Default Am I ready for install?

Hey I just ordered my E-01. Well here is what I got with the E-01:

E-01, external signal sensor, 6 ft. USB cable, ignition harness.

Will this do it? I am ready to get it installed and need your guy's opinion. Would you guys recommend me getting a wideband O2 A/F gauge? I was thinking about getting the A/F gauge without the wideband, but dunno if it is gonna be worth it. And also, I am taking it to a different tuner shop to tune my car. I will post my new dyno numbers once completed. Is there anything else I didnt get?

You need a wideband sensor.

An A/F gauge would be cool as long as it's a wideband gauge with sensor. I'd recommend getting the Zeitronix Zt-2 and then just hook it up to your E-01 to display the A/F and forget about the gauge.

Where can I get the Zeitronix Zt-2? And its just a sensor right? Isnt it the same as the Greddy Emanage O2 sensor here O2 sensor? And also, Is the Emanage Ignition harness recommended? I was thinking about just buying the pressure sensor harness only.

Ignition Harness - 35
PRofec E-01 & E-01 USB Cable -> 6 feet - 5
