^^^You are also running 100+ Octane fuel...all the others were running 91-93 octane. That could have something to do with as well.

Can't wait to see the condition of the internals once removed.

Yes he does...but that doesn't have anything to do with the strength of the rods. That's a A/F, knock issue.

Correct, but if there is some inaudible knocking going on, than it definately would have an effect on the rods. So using the high octane stuff can protect rods from damage....as well as other parts.

Dang Lyndon. That sounds nice. Do you think the extra 50 hp and whatever else might be included with the Z06 will make it worthwhile over the regular vette? 400 hp is about all the power I think I'd want in a car.

And, when are we doing another Vegas trip?

gq: yes all sorts of things can effect the rods... however what he is getting at is that all the octane does in my car is help with the tuning... it doesnt make the rods physically stronger. if they can handle the power, they can handle the power... if they cant handle knock, then they cant handle poorly tuned power.

maybe there is something else going on outside of most peoples control, and maybe its something that my FCON isnt effected by.

Hey Dan!!! Hows it going? Well the C6 Z06 is suppose to have 500hp so its a little more than a 50hp upgrade. The current C5 Z06 is a track monster and you know thats what I'm into. So I could only imagine what the C6 Z06 is capable of. Anyways, I got 2 years to save all my nickles and dimes because there is suppose to be a big price increase. So the Z must go.

As for VEGAS. You know I'm down anytime.

My Z has been "worst case scenario", high RPM ping, lots of fuel to perform w/o detonation, pulled the timing down and still not getting the power I should have, and then I found a good combo and it all came together. According to the Beltronics FX2 I am now running 12.50's on stock internals w/ 9psi boost and WB-O2 tuning from the drivers seat. No dyno, just persistence. I have at least 200 full throttle runs on the motor and no problems. Your guess is as good as mine. I do think that the careless few do not give there full story when they present data about scattered parts. In short, please include all details when you scatter parts.

It’s always the same story….”I had my car tuned by Stroke yer Tune, Inc. and it was perfect according to THERE dyno and the rods just gave out.” Most of the dead motors have come from peeps that do not have a WB-O2 in the car. How do you expect to monitor your tune w/o a WB-O2 or at the very least exhaust gas temp meter? Your only one tank of $hitty fuel from an explosion!
