Default turbo timers

Please Help

I am a newbie when it comes to turbos and I am getting the PE TT kit put on as soon as I get my Arias pistons. I was wondering what a turbo timer is, what it does, and do I need one?

A turbo timer allows your turbo(s) to properly cool down without you having to wait around. When you shut your car off oil stops cycling through the turbo and it doesen't get a proper cool down therefore ultimately shortening the life-span of the turbo. This is where your turbo timer comes into play, you can set your car to idle for 30 seconds all the way to 5-10 minutes so your turbos can properly cool down.

There is a never ending debate about the usefulness of turbo timers. To me...they are $70 of really cheap insurance. Just get one, and idle your car for 1min each time you turn it off.

I think the cheapest ones are the Greddy turbo timers. They are around $70.

Also, many higher end alarm systems have built in turbo-timer funtionality...just something to think about.
