G35c Wheels for 350z Help Request
I just had a question on the TPS on the G35 Coupe wheels. I just bought a used set for my 350z and I am thinking that the TPS were not included. I was told before the sale that the TPS would work in my car, but the valve stems on the G35 wheels I bought are the black rubber ones. I haven’t put them on the car because I have other issues with them, so I haven’t been able to check if the TPS works.
My Questions are:
Are the G35 TPS sensors similar to the 350z TPS sensors that are part of the valve assembly?
If so, since the wheels have the black rubber valve stems does this mean that I don’t have the sensors?
Do G35 TPS work with the 350Z TPS display?
I bought these wheels and tires with the expectation that there was about 60% life on the rear tires, they were in good condition except a couple scratches, and the TPS would work in my car. When I got the wheels/tires I found that the front tires were fine, but the rears were way past the wear indicators and they are unusable. There are pretty bad scratches on every wheel and I think the TPS sensors are missing. I bought them for $650 total which included shipping. Should I be complaining? I used Pay Pal with the protection insurance and I know it’s definitely a “buyer beware” deal, but I feel I wasn’t delivered what I was promised. I wanted some good information before I started dealing again with the seller.
Thanks in advance for any help or input.

I don't know if the G35 TPS sensors will work on a "Z" or not, but I assume they would. But, I do know, that the "G" puts the sensors in the valve, and it's metal. Black Rubber = No TPS.

I don't know if the TPS will work either, but my guess would be yes. Nissan would (should) have been going with a single TPS system on all their vehicles to save costs.
Since the rears you bought are gone (if you keep the wheels) the best thing is to get them dismounted so you can check inside the wheels for the sensors. Also, you should confirm the year of the G that the wheels are off of. TPS are standard on 04 cars, but were generally not available on the 03s (until MAYBE the very last of the 03 cars).
Now it sounds like you did not get what you were promised, but the price of $600 shipped seems like you were getting way too good of a deal. TPS are pretty pricey and you can't even get a set of sensors for $600 (let alone with wheels and tires).
For $600 it still looks like you got a fair deal. However that is besides the point since you did not get what you were promised.
I would definitey call the seller up and discuss the issue further. Good luck.

Thanks everyone, I appreciate the advice and information. From your posts I’m positive that I don’t have the TPS sensors now. I think that this deal went from a really good deal to an okay deal. I’m planning on calling the seller to arrange the best solution, (I don’t know why I’m giving him the benefit of the doubt). My first option will be to get some money back from the seller for not delivering what was promised. I would be happy with a couple hundred for the tires and letting the TPS sensor deal slide. That would mean I got a good set of used front tires and four scratched wheels for $300 and $150 for shipping costs. I can live with that without felling like a chump. If we can not reach a solution that way of if I can not get a response or returned call from him I will be sending everything back and working with Pay Pal to get my money back. I’m glad that I bought the “Money back Guarantee” from Pay Pal on this; hopefully it works in my favor.
Thank for the good luck wishes, I’ll need them so this runs as smooth as possible. This is definitely a lesson learned on doing online business from private sellers and trusting people with the too good to be true deals. Thanks again,
David

Well, here’s an update on the situation with the tires and wheels. I GOT SCAMED. I just wanted to let you guys know so that you don’t make the same mistake even though it is a pretty obvious scam. You can use me as a dumb-*** example, I deserve it.
I can’t get a hold of the seller through e-mails or phone calls. Just pure and simple it was a scam from the beginning. There was even a news report on it that my friend told me about. So in general be really careful about accepting an offer from outside an Ebay auction. I figure that I got about $650 worth of wheels and tires, but it is not the offer I accepted in the beginning. I’m still going to fight this and bug the seller until some solution is reached.
I've learned my lesson and I though my days of being a dumb gullible kid were over.
I ended up getting new rear tires, which was my original plan before investigating the used G35 wheels and tires. I may do a chrome wheel exchange with www.lawheel.com so that I don’t have the scratches and I have acceptable wheels. The cost is $450 plus shipping for Chrome or $750 for the Black Chrome. The scratches are not really that bad, but for me they’re bad enough where I don’t want to put them on my car.
My apologizes for rambling and venting, but I'm pretty upset with myself. I feel that I’m just throwing money away that I could have spent on Amway or buying the Brooklyn Bridge, J/K
. Thanks again,
David
