Angry Snow tires?

O.k., I know that no good sports car is worth a damn in the snow, but my car is ridiculous - as I have found out the hard way. Has anyone bought snow tires and do they really work?

Pilot Alpin's PA2's. I have used the Alpin's for three winters. Fantastic tire. This year I am using 17" Enkie MM2's with them; Leaving the stock 18" for the summer.
