Default Dimmer Wire!?

I'm installing an AVIC-D1 and I've got pretty much every wire hooked up but I'm missing the Dimmer (+ILL) wire. I can't figure out where to tap it into.

Need help!

Found it. If anyone wants to know:

Tap into the center wire on the dimmer switch.

um, you realize that there is one going into the stock harness for the stock radio right... the radio -does- dim w/ the rheostat without the use of magical powers.

Can you explain what you mean. I have the same issue. Have the illuminate wire for my new stereo and don't want to just leave it hanging.

Thanks.

Sure:

Ok the unit itself has a photocell which detects how dark or bright it is inside the car and dims accordingly. However, if you want your unit to dim when your car lights come on, then just find the dimmer button located by the trunk release button and the Vdc on/off and if you look in the back of that (dimmer) button, there are 3 wires leading up to it.

Take the ILL wire and tap it into the center wire leading up to the dimmer switch.

Let me know if you need more help.
IE pulling the plastic covers off the bottom of the dash.

Default Worked

Yeah so its 2AM and I just got done the rest of my audio install...WOOHOO! So the fix for the dimmer wire worked like a charm.

I'd really be in a bad way right now if there wasn't this forum....Thanks!
