2003 G35S Clean Exhaust Gases!
Here in Memphis, you must have your car inspected every year before you renew your license plate/registration. Fail your inspection, and no new plates. Myriad inspection points are completed. For example, exhaust gas emissions are tested, with solid particulate matter (smoke) and Carbon Monoxide (CO) measurements being key. The upper limit for smoke is 220 ppm and the upper limit for CO is 1.20%.
I have a Stillen dual exhaust (early [loud] model) on the car, which of course deletes the stock secondary catalytic converters. The first time I went thru an inspection with this exhaust system, I was as nervous as a cat. But my fears were totally unfounded.
Just this past week, as I prepared to renew my plates, I got the car tested again. My car, which has 85,000 miles on it now, has really clean exhaust gas emissions, with only 5.86 ppm of solid particulate matter and 0.00% of CO!
Can you imagine trying to commit suicide inside my car by leaving it run all night in the garage? You'd just wake up in the morning with a headache and late for work!
