I cant stand the cheap plastics layed everywhere in the 07 G sedan. That was a deal breaker.
Yup . No accounting for taste. On performance, hard to gauge a true feel unless you luck out on the right salesperson for the test drive.. Maybe some did, and maybe some saw/felt what they wanted to on the 40mph ride to the next light and back lol.

LOL, interesting/good comparison.

To the guy who said "To each his own", that's what it comes down to. If ya liked what ya saw, and liked what ya felt with a good test run, go with it. That's cool you had a chance to open 'er up, most tester drives are a joke though..
Much of the interior is too, like, who the fluk gets a chubby from led lights?

The interior wasn't that bad..
The problem was too many buttons to get used to from a average test drive..
After the test drive i was messing with the dash.. Pretty nifty stuff..
I liked the 10gig hard drive it had so you can put in your own music in..
Other then that it had a lot of pointless stuff you really dont need..
(dont get the impression that i wouldnt want it though)

Doesnt make much sense to me... I know they are new so everybody has to hype the hell out of them, but give me a break, there not that fast... So if your theory is true that it flies, imagine when the 07Z comes out with that motor... Should beat Z06's right!!! Its 6hp and even with the sae correction say 13hp.. Well the revup has 13 more hp than the non revup and they run about even... Its a drivers race.. i have driven an 07G sedan and I must say they run nice and look nice but you guys have gone off the deep end
it's all about the RAM Air! 3HP @ 60MPH!

I have not added much to this but here is my look at it. I have just purchased a 2006 G coupe. I drove the 2007 coupe and the sedan..Yes I now the coupe is not out yet but the dealership in Lake Norman NC had one for the auto show in Charlotte. I did not think that the 2007 sedan was faster than the 06 coupe that I bought and the 06 and 07 coupe have the same motor in them. But I have been TOLD meaning that I dont know it to be 100% true but the 06-07 G's are faster than the 06-04 Z's. Coupes i mean. I know the 07 sedan has the new motor but I could not tell and diff in that than my car. Again I am new to this forum and have not posted much but I feel my recent experiance in car buying may be of some help

Default Acura TL 6spd and G35 coupe

We recently purchased an '06 G35 coupe 6MT for my wife - I've owned a '04 Acura TL 6MT for about 2-1/2 years. The coupe corners like a beast compared to my TL, but I'd swear the TL is quicker - I haven't clocked them, but, at worst, it would be neck and neck to 70 or 80 mph in a race between the two cars. It definitely likes the high end of the tach better than the G. Just my seat of the pants assessment after driving both cars back to back. The TL absolutely SINGS at 6000rpm+. The G just doesn't feel as happy at those lofty RPM numbers - that said, it has more torque down low. We love our new (new to us - we found a pristine 6MT w/premium pkg and 9K on the odometer for $29K ) G, but, by the same token, they can have the keys to my TL when they can pry them from my cold, dead hands...

I have decided wood doesn't belong in cars.

Wood is for boats.

Amen.

I hope your refering to a MODDED TL, because stock they feel slugish.

A G35 can take any TL anytime.

Default Don't count on it

The TL 6speed manual will DUST an automatic TL - hits 60 in about 5.8 seconds - stock. Comes with 4 piston Brembos up front and weighs 85lbs less than the auto. Since they're all but impossible to find, my guess is, you haven't driven the manual version. I agree, though, the automatic version does feel sluggish - but it's also at least a full second slower to 60 than the manual. The 6 speed TL is quick - very, very quick for a car of that size. But, no, it cannot corner with the G - too soft, and front wheel drive.

http://www.caranddriver.com/comparis...-acura-tl.html Skater, if you don't believe me - here's a source - admittedly, this is the older G it's up against, but the TL is a seriously quick automobile.

Are you kidding? The 07 interior is far better than the Z stock or upgraded interiors I've seen. (My own opinion of course)

Here’s the link to my 07 G35S

I saw that post, congrats on your new purchase. That is the exact trim and exterior color i would have chosen if i had traded in my 03 350Z.

Most of us are comparing the 07 G35 with other cars in its class, not the 350Z. Yea, hands down, the interior of the Z is no where near as nice as the G's.

The thing is, i had test drove a 335i that day, sat in a TL-S, TSX, RL, M45, and finally the 07 G35. I was just really disapointed the minute i examined the material of the dash. The plastic trim and the steering wheel where all fine, even attractive, and on par most of the other cars in this segment, but the material that covered the whole dash looked like a softer version of the plastic chairs we sat in school. Everything else about the G35 i loved and thats why i had such high hopes Nissan/Infinity wouldnt screw the interior up.

So the 07 G is quicker than the current Z?

Can't wait for the 07 Z then.
