Couldn't belive what happened to day. I just finished rebuilding a transmission for a guy who owned a Dodge intrepid. His car was a real POS big *** wing, heavy *** rims, home made CAI and bunch of stickers. As he is paying me for the job he was admiring my car through the window and said he wanted to race me. I told him I only race for money (jokingly) and he was like ok. How much he asked and I said 1000 (jokingly again) and he said ok and dug out 1000 out his pocket. I was like is this for real, but he gave me the money to hold. Then he started bragging about his car about how much $ he has won from racing it.

My car is an 04 coupe auto with a vortech s/c, spacer, hks exhaust.

Went down the back street behind my shop and went on 3 honks. I guess yall can figure the rest. I usually never race my car and this was the first ever for money. Just couldn't believe it. The guy followed me back to the shop and couldn't believe how fast my car was. He asked what was under the hood and I told him it was stock. He shook my hand and I went right back to work. Easiest $1000 I have ever made

 

Ditto. I really think you should give it back and maybe tell the guy to donate it to a charity or something.

you should not have told him it was stock, if he buys one next week because of the Z's uberness, and than finds it isn't so impressive...he may come back to you. If he finds out you lied at that point he may just set fire to your ride.

Ill try to give the guy a call tomorrow and I will take a pic of his car for you if he swings by if you like. I own my own transmission shop and people ask me all the time if I want to race. Really had nothing to prove, thought he was bull****ting me at first but he told me he lost fair and square. I really did it just for the fun of it and wasn't going to keep the money, but he told me to keep it. It doesnt really matter if you believe me or not, but all I know is I have an extra 1000 to spend on my car.

 

I would have lost on purpose, raised the bet, and swindle the guy.

 

Just b/c you drive a ****ty car doesn't mean you have money. I know people who drive the ugliest POS but live in pretty damn nice houses
