Another Article praising the G37
Thought you all might want to see this...
Kind of cool, that some of the Car Magazines are that excited about this car...
Winding Road - Infiniti G37 Coupe Review, August 2007
Praise for the 2008 Infiniti G37 Coupe seems to be pouring in daily! Blog traffic from the Motor Trend cover story citing that “The King is dead” referring to the G37’s road test victory over the new BMW 335i has Infiniti fans reveling, while BMW owners are scrambling to come up with reasons to explain their defeat. The August 2007 issue of Winding Road Magazine is out, and contains a road test of the Infiniti G37 Coupe titled “An Infinite Refinement Defines the New G”. The writer drove the G Coupe at the corporate press event in Alabama last month. The road test inevitably compares the G Coupe to the BMW 335i, as well as the Nissan Z. The article praises Infiniti for keeping what made the previous G Coupe a success (styling, power, handling, brakes) while refining the items (interior, manual transmission) that needed improvement. The G’s brakes were highlighted as being one of the best attributes of the new G Coupe.
Some notable quotes from the article:
“…while the whole bargain-BMW bit has become a bit of a cliché, it is impossible to assess Infiniti’s G-unit without noting that it does undercut a comparable BMW 335i Coupe by several thousand dollars.”
“The enormous brakes are markedly more heat- and fade-resistant…”
“…the Bose Studio on Wheels system is an aural treat, among the best factory systems created.”
“The V-6’s sonorous blat thorough the G’s twin exhausts will have enthusiasts rolling their windows down at every opportunity.”
“The new G’s voluptuous flanks are a studied evolution of the original’s…and that’s no bad thing.”
“True to Infiniti form, the G37 splits the difference in the performance market: it’s plusher and pricier than cut-rate coupes, but more powerful than six-cylinder Deutsche models that cost thousands more.”
Winding Road loved the G37 so much they produced their own video of nothing but a G37 and the wonderful sounds of its engine going for a spirited ride through the countryside. This video was uploaded on the Winding road website
