Default People I need help!

Ok I am shopping for a car right now. I was totally determined to get a black 350Z until I saw the G35 at the same dealer. UP close it looks good. Currently I have an Audi TT 225 which cost me almost 70K Canadian, THe 6MT G35 fully loaded every option but nav is 48K and the Performance package (no brembos or aero) 350Z is 46.5K. The g35 seems to have way better bang for the buck. How close are these cars in performance? I realize theres slight power and torque difference. Whats the cause of this? How do they compare suspension wise? I know the G is alittle heavier, do they share same bushings, shocks and shock rates? Or not? Does the G35 have that weird bounce that 350Z people talk about? Any reliability issues between the two? I really really like the interior of the G35, its similar to the audi, plus it has a sunroof...so now its just weighing out the performance and handling issues,,...any and all input from drivers of either would be great...the sooner I get rid of my crap audi the better...Thanks for any help.

Get the APR Stage 3 for your TT and enjoy having Quattro. I've never been, but I'd imagine it works better than conventional RWD in inclement weather.

Or, splurge for the AWD G35x sedan.

Lol dude..the TT is junk, my car has had over 25K in warranty work done on it. WHen it runs well which is rare, it does alittle less than 14 quarter and pulls about alittle over 160mph. Its not a true quattro as it uses a swedish awd mechanism which is electric called Haldex. I have a 225 model. There is only MTM and OCT stage three kits for it which are about 12K for 100hp jump. THe APR stage 3 kit is for the lower model which bumps it from a K03 to a garret which hits bout 280ish hp. Good value for the money. My car comes stock though with a KO4. I really want to get rid of it...its in the shop again today. Dont like the G35 sedan, but the awd seems allright. Any advice on the performance of the coupe? How does it compare to the 350?

Sorry to hear you're in a lemon Audi. It's been a while since I've been in a Euro, or looked at the offerings for the 1.8T. I figured that APR would have had probably put some goodies out for the 225 by now. Guess not...

Good luck in your search! I don't know when AWD will be offered for the coupe. When I bought, I was looking specifically for the sedan, so I didn't do much research on the coupe, or the 350Z. I'm sure you'll get plenty of advice around here.

Coming from an Audi TT it seems the G35 coupe might be a better fit. Straight line performance between the Z and G is very similar. The Z gets the nod but its very close. Its my understanding that the suspension set up is not the same between the two. The G will be a softer ride, but it is not even close to being "cushy" especially with the 18" wheels. I have not experienced nor heard about any other G owners complaining about a bouncy ride, the softer suspension and longer wheelbase eliminates it. Reliability on both cars should be great - you will probably get better service (loaner cars, etc.) with Infiniti.

Take a test drive and decide for yourself - they are both great cars but probably only 1 is for you.

I believe the G is faster too.
I have raced 4 Z's with my 5AT, and I beat each one by a suprising margin - steadily pulled away.

The G does not have all the problems of the Z either - not sure why, but it doesn't.
