Default G35's at Motorsport Ranch: July 3rd, 2004

The date has been set. With looking at available track dates and peoples schedules, the date has been set as Saturday July 3rd, 2004. Being a holiday weekend, it gives 2 additional advantages. First, more people will be available since they have an extra day and there is more time to travel for people out of state.

The MotorSport Ranch is a 304 acre facility located 14 miles South of Fort Worth, Texas on Highway 377. Think of the MotorSport Ranch as a "Sports Car Country Club". Most country clubs consist of activities that center around a golf course, these activities will center around a road course instead. The MotorSport Ranch is a place to explore the potential of these cars and for the drivers to develop and practice their driving skills on a 1.7 mile, 11 turn road course.

I have arranged a special club days for G35 owners. Due to the lack of a charter and tax ID for the G35 club, I will be handling all entries directly with Motorsports Ranch. Here are the details:

The minimum number we like to do is 20 cars, the maximum is 32. The cost is $95.00 per driver. This is the exact cost of the event from Motorsport Ranch including the insurance for the event. There should be one driver per car, no sharing of cars. We allow passengers on the two "lead and follow" sessions, but not in the later sessions. The lead and follow sessions are with pace cars and no allowed passing on the track. Helmets are not required during the "lead and follow" sessions, but are required for the open sessions later. MotorSport Ranch has a supply of helmets for rent for $10.00 each or you can bring your own. Helmets much mean Snell M95 or higher. After the Lead and Follow sessions will be a class room session. Then there will be 2 more 25-minute sessions with no passengers, no paces cars, helmets and passing only on the 2 long straights. Each driver and passenger is required to sign the necessary insurance waiver.

All participants must be there by 1:00 pm. I plan to have a club meeting earlier to help ensure everyone gets there on time. I will also be teching cars for safety. Make sure all your fluids are at proper level. Tires pressures should be adjusted and lug nuts tight. Your brake fluid should be clean and clear. If it is black, bleed your brakes before coming out or you will not be allowed on the track. You will also be required to remove your floor mats. Deposits will be check written to "Motorsport Ranch" for $95.00(without helmet) or $105.00(with helmet) and must be received by May 22nd by me to get a place. The event right now is only for G35 owners. You do not have to be a club member to do the event. To particilate you must drive a G35 at the event. If I do not receive 19(I am entry #1) by May 22, the event is off. If I do not receive the maximum of 32 entries by May 22, I will then open it up for 350Z owners to get in with a June 5th deadline. The checks will be held until June 11th, when they will be sent to Motorsport Ranch for event payment. PM me to get a signup application.

Originally, this was an event of the G35 club of Dallas and Fort Worth. In the organization, there was a problem. That is the club has no charter, tax ID, etc. Although there have been meetings, there legally is no club. Although this is a "club" event, I had to separate it from the club to protect Grubbs legally since Grubb is handling much for the club. Without nonprofit status, I could not legally put on the event without charging tax and having Grubbs handle it.

Instead, I am working with Motorsports Ranch directly. All the checks are going directly to them. Because they normally do a club event where the club writes one check the day of the event, I didn't feel right having checks written to my self personally and the club does not have a bank account, I have arranged to forward all the individual checks to the ranch 2 weeks before the event. It doesn't matter if you resgister early since the checks won't be cahed until right before the event. I am working on a charter for the club, so we won't have to do this next year(I want to do MSR annually).

GRUBBS INFINITI, LTD.
1661 West Airport Freeway
Euless, TX 76040

Just send me an e-mail at Loren_75080@yahoo.com and I will forward the forms with the registration and tech info to anyone interested.
