Unhappy What should I do???

I bought my car about 5 weeks ago. A new 04 red 6mt. When I bought it I was out of town and It was late in the day. I didn't get to really take a look at it, I just test drove it, filled out the paper work and drove it home. The dealership didn't clean it up very well so when I got home I started cleaning the interior. I noticed that there was what looked like red over spray on a few interior pieces. The driver side window also looks like there is clear coat over spray on it. Then, a few days later I took it through an automatic car wash and when the water would spray on the drivers side of the car, water would come through the window. Finally, last night I was waxing the car becuase it also had a few scraches from when I got it. After I had taken all the wax off I looked it over realy carefully and it looks like there is sand marks from it being re-painted. I'm pretty upset about the whole thing and want to call the dealership and tell them to take the car back. When I bought the car it had 130 miles on it. Now, it has 1,300. Do you think that they will work with me?

I just used my dad's paint thickness gauge on my car. The left side from the door back is 6.5-15 mils. Everywhere else is around 4-4.5. I checked a few of my dad's cars that we know haven't been painted and they're all 4-4.5 mils too. I'm going to call and tell them to take it back and get me a new one.

I will. I am not happy at all about it. I'd like as many responses in my threads for help. Also, it will help me have some pull with ifiniti if they're name is getting some sort of bad reputation.

I can almost guarantee they won't take the car back... I would go to the dealership, explain what happened, and if the car has a history; document everything they say. You can try requesting they refund you in full or work out some kind of agreement for a new car. If they stonewall you or shrug you off, go over their head. Also consider going to the press/media, if you can. The last thing a dealer needs is bad publicity. If the car was in an accident and sold to you as new, you might have a good case in court.

I would go to the dealer 1 time and tell them you think the car was in an accident before you bought it, and ask them to take it back.
If they don't then I would call Infiniti USA and start yelling at people. Or better yet, have your lawyer call them. I'm sure after the dealer get's a call from Infiniti he will change his tune. I would be 100% positive that it was in an accident though.

Good luck

Just as a small update. I am taking the car back to the dealer tomorrow so they can look over it. I have been talking to the manager (Mike) at Tim Dahle and he has been very helpful. He found out that the car had been damaged in transportation. He ordered another car to replace mine. I'm still not sure if they are going to do a buy back on it though. I intend to do a full follow up when all this is over. All though I hate to say it, when you go to buy a new car, check over it as if it was used. Better safe than sorry.. right?
