Default Strange and loud clutter noise.. Bad tranny??

A couple weeks ago I started to hear a weird cluttering noise from my 6MT coupe. Soon after my "Service Engine Soon" light came on so I took it to my local dealer for service. They said the light came on from a bad timing solenoid and they replaced it. I picked my car up last night, and on my way home that noise was still there, but the engine light was off. Just now, I was driving it home and the engine light came on again. On my way up a hill today the clutter sound would come only when I was on the throttle. Once I would lift my foot up it would go away. But sometimes I can hear it even at idle. I told the dealer to drive my car around to hear the noise, and they said they didn't hear anything, which is BS because it's very obvious. I have another appt. set for wednesday but I want to see what you guys think. Does anyone know what this is? Bad clutch? Bad transmission? I really think it's the tranny because there is no clutter sound if I'm in neutral. I can try to get a sound clip if that would help.

Thanks.

spin, red-line shift, put into reverse while still running 2mph, down shift from 5 to 2nd gear................these ways may help you to decide whether the tranny is good/bad. After all, bring your car to the dealer .

Maybe I'm not catching something but... how is all that going to tell you if your tranny is bad?

Make sure you don't let your dealer get away with not fixing it.
