Since the "Z" track does not come out until December, per Nissan announcement yesterday. Does this mean the Brembos are gone from them also
This is really bad news

Not bad news at all. The current regular brakes just as good as the Brembo ones do. It's all in the pads. Get some good pads and they will work better than the brembos. ALso better lines.

Get some Hawk Pads, or Axxis Metal Masters, and even on the track you will do just fine. Also better lines and fluid.
the brembos are hardly "paying for the name".
they are much more resistant to fade as the "track" designation implies.
I drive pretty hard and have had fade on my 03 touring several times. As few g35c and non track z will ever see the track it makes sense.
my current dilemma are whether the porsche ceramic brakes on the 997 911 are worth the $8K.
I'll wait till the verdict is out...
<impatiently waits to order his 911>

stock brakes dont come close to touching brembo's.. that's a joke if you think you are paying for the name alone.
why are all the high end cars using brake systems engineered by brembo then?
... infiniti had to cut cost somewhere to keep up with all their new pretty upgrades and 18 worthless horsepower.

It's all in the pad that prevents fade not the actual brake system.
I have been to the track too a few times, and my brakes haven't faded. Hmm wonder why. The PADS and brake fluid.

110-111 ft 60-0 stopping distance for Sedan (depending on review)
Sedan: http://motortrend.com/roadtests/oney...ct/index3.html
117 ft 60-0 stopping distance for Coupe with Brembos (the best per all the reviews)

The facts are out there, just do a internet search. Like I said, your paying for the name. Because the brakes on them are better than what Nissan put on the Z and G35 from Brembo. Nissan makes very good brakes already, they really DIDN'T need the Brembos.
Getting rid of the Brembos by all means was not cutting costs, but it was Nissan listening to its customers of the complaints they had with the Brembos being noisy, expensive to replace, etc.

I never would have bought my Coupe if it were not for the Brembos. My brakes have never faded on me, and they have in your face stopping power. The non Brembo "Gs" and "Zs" that I've driven, IMO, have no feel and are much too grabby. Whether you think it's the pad material or not, and no matter what the tests say, the Brembos are by far and away the best system I've ever had on any of my previous automobiles, bar none, and the best on any car I've ever drriven, except late model Porsches with Brembos. For this brake to be available on a sub $35K car, was a real coup for Nissan. I, for one, morn their loss
Also, it's not really about how fast they will stop you car in a straight line, one time. It's about overall performance, feel, fad resistance, and how fast they will stop your car a number of times (yes, I know that's fade). Overall, the Brembos used on the "G" and the Track have no oem equal in a car in this price range. It's truly a mistake to discontinue them

Stopping distance is NOT why the TRACK model has Brembos pal. Stopping distance is NOT why the Brembos are better. As someone said, it is for the TRACK. The Brembos resist fade significantly better than the stock brakes.

Well look at it this way...
Sedan is only 50-75 lb lighter.
Sedan is undertired compared to to the coupes 235s. It has 215s.
And it still braked faster than the coupe. Slalom has got nothing to do with brakes. lol.
But the Sedan does .90 G in the slalom, not sure the mph off hand.

I am by no means a brake expert, just spitting out knowledge i have learned here and there. But many other things come into consideration with those two examples. If you have the numbers on a coupe with stock brakes, that would be helpful. The sedan weighs much less than the tested coupe (as much as I could tell) and the coupe performed better in the slolam. Wouldn't that lead you to believe that the performance braking was better with brembo's, just by what you've shown? Stopping performance leaned toward the sedan, but as i mentioned there are other factors to take in (tire size, wheel size, weight, etc).

so will someone remind me again why mfrs such as stop-tech, brembo, wilwood, & AP to name a few market brake upgrades for performance vehicles??? maybe porsche, bmw, mercedes and other high-end mfrs should just drop single piston nissan calipers on all their cars - maybe we would all be able to afford them then...
