Default Crawford Header Installed

Just got my Crawfords installed today. I got a deal of a price to install. My mechanic thought they were going to be like DC headers cause he had done a few. My mechanic said never again. Hahahaha. Hes a good guy and has great prices. He's located in Southern Cali and his prices are great. PM me if you want his number.

Anyways,

The sound of the engine changed and I get more of raspy noise in the exhaust at the really high rpms. I like it though. Engine revs up faster and smoother. Topend power is great. I didnt get to drive the car much. (had a poker game to go to) Just gunned it a few times, cant wait to hit the freeway. Midrange power is good also, but im not sure if it was just me or the headers but it feels like I kinda lost a little bit on the bottom. and i noticed that the engine bay had more heat than it did with the stock headers.

The butt dyno said its worth every penny. I recommend these headers to everyone.

My mechanic was impressed as well. He said he did Z's with DC headers and he couldnt really feel anything. He said he felt a big difference compared to the DCs.

I have the following mods:
Nismo CAI intake
Helix straight pipes
Injen Straight Tip Exhaust
and of course Crawford Headers

Next mods:
UR Pulley
Crawford Plenum
Tilton Flywheel & Clutch
(SLICKS)

Best headers out there for cams or SC, mcduck and mjedens are two great examples of what putting a good header on the car can do. mcduck has FI and mjedens has the radical Tomei 268 cams.

Congrats!! You will enjoy the power. You should assure your installer that after a few of them he will not think they are any worse than the other headers, just different. The guys at Doug's shop have installed so many that they can pretty much whip through the install now. I can remember when I was on my back under the car for hours as the first self install, first 5AT install thinking there is no way in he!! these things are going to fit up there, but after 12 hours I was done and quite happy Now get that plenum, some cams and have your ECU tuned. You will think your driving a totally different car.

I have Crawfords Cats, Headers and Plenum with Borla True Dual. I love every bit of it, great work and power is very noticeable. Vortech SC is on the way, install in a month. Same set up as McDuck just not gonna run the cams!

when I had mine put in (along with most of my other mods including cams) the guy initially was thinking 'wtf? how are those going to fit?' he decided to just pull the engine to give him some more room to work.

Did some spirited driving tonight. WOW I love these headers. I was initially wrong when I said I lost a little bit on the bottom end. The whole power band is great. At full throttle my exhaust gets really rasppy....but I love it.....Cant say enough about these headers. Dont buy the cheap stuff guys....Dish out the money and purchase these......

If you switch from test pipes to hi-flow cats you may get rid of that raspiness.

Crawford Collector, I think the merging of the runners could had been a little better. as well as the welds on the header could have been a little better. If I'm not mistaken I believe each header is made by hand.

Cant complain about the power though.

We thought about adding a merge collector...

Two things complicated it.

- Room to both our LONG tubes, and keeping the cats in the stock position.

- Cost vs. Performance

Merge collectors are not an inexpensive animal, as they in themselves are a work of art! Very few people in the country can make a genuinely nice piece that we would be interested in using.
