Default Need help: 350Z / G35 exhaust swap?

Anyone know:

Can the stock G35 exhaust fit on a 350Z with minor modifications (i.e. - is there an extension that can be removed from the G35 exhaust so it can fit on the shorter wheelbased of a Z)???

Thanks

It would require cutting and welding. You would have to cut 6" off the mid-pipe to make it fit and still use the factory rubber hangers. You would also have to cut off 2" in between the muffler and exhaust tips so that they don't stick out too far.

just curious - why would you want to swap?

if you're looking for the deeper more baritone g35 sound, there's no point, because the modifications needed to shorten the exhaust will effectively turn the g35 exhaust into a Z exhaust

in other words the sound is created by the extra length of the G piping

just an FYI... since I asked a nissan tech about the same thing
