Default High flow cats question.

Are high flow cats supposed to have 4 holes?

I bought some used ones and they have the two o2 sensor holes on the side as normal PLUS they have two holes on the other side of the cat that look like the o2 holes. Is this normal? I don't want to take them to get installed and they're not right, are there actually 4 sensors?

From the pics I've seen these are not usually there (or not visible).

Hmm? That's strange. As far as I know, there should only be 2 O2 sensor holes. Mine only has 2. What kind of HF's do you have?

They are used. Did the previous owner have some additional bungs added for additional sensors (i.e. A/F or EGT)?

That's what I thought, I'll make sure I'm not crazy and look at them again tommorrow, but I think there was another set of holes up by the triangle flange. The is also a hole drilled in one for a gauge, but the holes I'm speaking of look like they came on the cats.

Really, I guess this is what I get for buying used. Guy who had them made no mention of all these extra holes.

I'll post a pic in the morning.

They're the Helix DNA Series 200 Cell Metal Substrate HF Cats.

Obviously they won't pass visual but they are suppose to pass the sniffer test (this, however, remains to be seen). Still have my OEM cats so I'm not too worried. I can always slap them on if needed.

I have the Fujitsubo SS Legalis-R + Y-pipe & it sounds great! Still retains the Fuji's subtle sound during regular driving/idle but adds an even better growl during WOT. I was scared it was going to make it too loud but it wasn't that loud at all. Overall...very pleased.

Ok, I looked at them today, one has a smaller ~1/4" hole just drilled into it, and the other cat has a big hole welded onto it (similar to the o2 but pre-cat). I guess I can just plug 'em or get some gauges that fit.

I just ordered a pair last night. Seems like everybody was out of them and waiting for HELIX to produce more. I ordered from some mod shop on line, the guy checked while I was on the phone waiting and getting nervous that he too was out. But he said, sir, your in luck, I have one set left.

You should have a talk with the asswipe who sold em to you. Probably had FI and AF bungholes drilled in. Its plain shady that he didnt mention it. Totally uncool.

I think I saw four holes on a Random Tech pair... Zchicks.com has an install of these and they show four holes, looks like they came that way...

I bought my HELIX DNA's from intensepower.com or i-m-c-racing.com...hopupracing.com sells them too at the same price. And they are one of our sponsors Would have bought from them first, but they were out too!
