Unfortunately the mufflers alone are about $320 a piece thats $640 for mufflers, then add the piping, welding, and bending, flanges, hangers flex sections, polishing etc.

Piping is ALOT more then $25. For just 1 foot of straight 304SS 3'' Piping your looking at 16$ p/foot. And it probably takes about 20 feet of piping to do the whole exhaust system. Not to mention you can't use all straight piping, 1 ft 45 degree bends are usually like $45. So your probably looking at a good $470 in piping alone, then you have to add on welding, flanges, hangers flex sections, resonators etc.

We could use Carbon Ti Mufflers that aren't made by HKS which are usually like $100-$150 a muffler instead of $300-$325 a muffler.

Yeah, all that = money. Everything takes money to make. I understand that as I saw what the manufacturing world was like. However, the mufflers are not $700. It is $600 at market value and less if you do wholesale. $500 or under. Taking all that into consideration, if you could get the price under $1,000, then I think you'd convince quite a few people to buy your product. Anything over is that price is going into HKS dual hi power ti exhaust system territory. Then you will start to lose customers to that system. I don't claim to be an expert market analyst, although I used to do marketing research, go figure. It's just my own opinion and thoughts.
If you make a great quality product while keeping it affordable, you will sell so much that you will take a huge chunk of the market and make $$$, even if it is not that much profit for each unit. But then again, what do I know. Don't listen to me, I'm a crazy man and I hope to buy your product if I can afford it.

I say do the best you can to get the Dual HKS CF Ti mufflers under $1000 and you look like you got yourself a winner. $900 would be even better lol.

What's the quality like on those generic carbon ti mufflers. Do you have any pics? If the quality is questionanle, you might want to stick with the HKS and charge more to keep it a high quality product. But what do I know.

Where are you shopping? LOL! I found them from a reputable place for $275 per muffler. Piping is very cheap for 2.75" stainless steel piping, looked it up earlier. Welding and bending...$150. Flanges, add 50. Hangers, add 20. Polishing shouldn't be that much.

http://www.burnsstainless.com/304tubing/304tubing.html

Check out prices for 16 gage 3'' piping. It's not cheap

www.google.com --> HKS Carbon Ti Muffler = Prices from $299 + Shipping to $355 + Shipping. Make sure the HKS Mufflers you're looking at are 75mm Inlets not 60mm

Thanks for the link to Burnt Stainless, why not just get all straight pipe, save some money, and just bend and cut it? Does SSR have a mandrel-bending machine?

No we don't have a mandrel bending machine. If we get enough orders we can just have all the pipes mandrel bent which would save alot of cash, (as you obviously see if u look at the burns stainless link )

i would be interested in seeing these mufflers compared to the HKS. granted if they are cheaply made, it would be of benefit to stick with the quality/craftsmanship of HKS; but if these no-names are "identical" then it may be a very suitable alternative.

Yes it's definitely worth looking into, theres two options you guys can weigh, you guys can save some money and have a generic muffler that doesen't say HKS, when HKS probably gets their mufflers made at the same place the Generic ones are. Or you can go for full-out top notch quality, granted it will be more expensive.

If the generic mufflers are good quality, then I'd rather save money and do the generic. So is it quality? I'm thinking pepboy mufflers or those mufflers off ebay for $20. Hope it isn't anything like those.. Keep us informed on those generic mufflers, i'm very interested to save money with those. Thanks SSR.

Haha, no they aren't pepboy or e-bay mufflers. I'm going to try to find pictures of the muffler, but it's basically an HKS Replica.

Yeah we definitely want to stay away from that, as soon as I find this muffler I'll post pictures for you guys to show that it's of high quality.

ssr, oh ok, has SSR ever considered getting one? It might be beneficial for the long-term than buying the bent tubing.

how much cheaper would these be to make....this is the HKS dual hi power exhaust w/ titanium tips..

http://www.i-m-racing.com/hksduhititex1.html

looks better than the CF IMO and might be cheaper??
