Megan testpipes CRACKED!!
so me and a buddy of my mine w/ a Z were backroading hardcore like a week ago and when we stopped in a parking lot to go our seperate ways and say later .... i hear my car start making loud sounds (kinda like when you turn off your car and you can hear your exhaust cooling, but a lot louder) sure enough on my drive home it was loud as hell and sounded like a broken lawn mower
next day(s) it started to get louder and louder like a loudass broken lawnmower!
i took it into jiffy lube where my buddy works and i went under to look at it and we found that the megan downpipes where the pipes weld were it connects the resonater cracked almost all the way around! only like 1 cm or so was holding it!!
the pipes were SOOOO loud on my car i could barley take it over 3K without it being hearable 350 miles away... haha
good thing i have a good family mechanic friend of ours who welded it up for me...
the pipes dont sound that bad at all but a broken weld??

When exhaust components break at flange, 99.9% they have been installed wrong and they where carying load and flex. This seems like an isolated case.

not much to it that you could screw up
if they carry load(from the exhaust) than they are installed wrong, it's simple. You have to make sure that exhaust carries weight, not test pipes. stock cats have a hanger, test pipes do not have a hanger. Problem gets even worse with exhausts without flex pipes as testpipes(cats) will have to endure even more flex and weight. Do you have a flex pipe on your exhaust?

Yea, this is a board full of knowledge and all, but some of you guys are dicks. I'd appreciate a straight answer from anyone who doesn't have their head stuck up their ***, oh? and what a thought, an answer thats ON TOPIC?
Not very raspy at all and this is the first I head of them cracking. To be safe you could keep the stock bracket on and have something welded to the pipes, to remove stress from them.
