Default not another dumb newbie i hope

Well I am VERY expierenced with modding cars. I have had a 450 rwhp t/a, and i just sold my lightly modded c5. Years ago, i had a 97 integra. Now i modded that, and it DID get faster but sounded TERRIBLE!! I am about to pick up my Z this next week, an 05 touring..and need some advice. I have searched the forums, used the search and came up with differing opinions.

-Bottom line..the car is new...i WILL NOT void the warranty....MUST I USE NISMO products? I don't mind spending extra, as long as the warranty will be in tact. I saw someone say that the R in the name meant Racing so the warranty would be voided.

-I want to mod my car to be faster, esp. since this car will have signifigantly less HP than my previous cars....however...i DO NOT want my car to sound like my old modded integra that "fart can" "ricey" sound.....is there an exhaust that will make numbers, but retain a stock sound?

NISMO, Borla, and Stillen make a good sound IMO. I would say Borla sounds the best (and this is coming from someone who loves domestic sounds...).

I think if you stick with basic modifications you'll be fine as far as the warranty, pulley, intake, exhaust, headers, test pipes/high-flow cats, ECU reflash, etc.

No mod will "void" your warranty unless it is the direct cause of your warranty issue. In other words, if you put on an intake and your tranny dies they can't say your warranty is void cause of an intake; the intake is in no way related to the problem. However, if your cold air intake sucked in water then they wouldn't cover you.

Sound wise, if you are going N/A get the quietest setup you can. The more mods you put the louder it gets so a quiet setup will still sound reasonable later on. I would suggest any street-legal setup (95db or below).

Apex'i World Sport 2
Greddy Evo
Tanabe Super Medallion Hyper
Fujitsubo Legalis R

All these are good quiet exhausts.

the nismo is also very tame compared to the ones listed above. its alittle louder, and alittle meaner, but very tame driving around town.

If it helps any, the Nismo exhaust are actually made by Fujitsubo. I think the Nismo badged ones are slightly louder, though.
