Default EXHAUST CONTROLLER on EBAY for loud exhaust

Got the Topspeed exhaust installed with helix test pipe, and a set of topspeed header, and it was just to loud for my taste, well while driving at night or going for a long trip, but i just notices something on ebay... its called EXHAUST CONTROLLER 3", http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33630 and was wondering if anyone on this forum have ever install one of these before? and how would you think it'll perform, consider the back fire etc...

What the... why would you want to restrict your exhaust with that thing? You should try taking the exhaust in to a good exhaust shop and get some resonators put on.

No you use it as a Y pipe to bypass the muffler. I had it on my old car which had low compression pistons which sounded like a chainsaw. It does its job of being able to get loud and annoying when you want it to but it gets boring fast. I used it to scare ricers and mustangs. But I wouldn't drive with it opened for more than 5 minutes and halfway sounds like an exhaust leak. Only thing you can do is probably get high flow cats instead of the test pipes.

with or without resonators, i think the exhaust would still be loud... only wanted the loudness to go away while driving at night or on a road trip.

charlie_rdstr_Z, Dont understand what you mean... soo when you had it turn on (open) it sounded like the exhaust was leaking? how is that? and when you had it turn off (close) did it sounded better? i mean did the loudness go away?

Charlie is saying this does not do anything to quiet down the exhaust. It actually makes it louder. What it does is bolt up on the y-pipe before the muffler so you can make the air bypass the mufflers on command to scare off people. That is my translation for Charlie. :P I have no first hand exp with this mod.
