I dunno, I just remember the guy who put the SSV on with his vortech, said that his tuner tried his best to tune for it, but the SSV made it so rich it was out of range or was going to take a huge amount of work to try to get the A/F back where it used to be so they ended up taking the SSV off. I have no experience with the R4 software and don't plan on using it as my piggyback if I were to go with the vortech - planning on the emanage ultimate

I think its the same guy who PMed me asking about it . I dont think the tuner had worked with the R4 before at all . He was afraid to reduce the injector pulse to much

The more I drive though, the more I'm convinced I've gained power. I know it could be a mental thing cause it does sound a little different, but I feel I made a good choice with this part and have no regret, then again I've already spent like $15000-16000 on mods...so some people might say I have a mod addiction regardless of how much it costs...

The SSV sounds different in different gears at WOT

overall it has more of a scooped midrange sound compared to the crawford. It's probably quieter at idle - mainly because of less midrange frequencies which the human ear is very sensitive to, but louder at WOT

I am installing mine tomorrow. I will try and dyno as soon as I can. With the cams and reflash I am hoping to add 10-15 somewhere in the power band, If I dont make anymore power, I am taking it off and sending that **** back.

The guy you are talking about was Jeremy (LeMans350Z) and he just posted that after going to a different tuner, he is now at 422 RWHP and his A/F is good between 11-12. He has the SSV but not sure how much of his gain was from that vs a good tune.

I've just finished installing my SSV IM.
It took me 4 hrs. I took my time but I wasted about 1 hr. because, at first, I just could not drop it in. It seem to be "too long" becuase of the elbow fitting next to TB hitting the firewall, where the car ID is.
I finally had to turned that elbow so that it points down. It was pointing to the left.
I will test drive the car tomorrow.

yeah it's kinda a pain, my GF and I both installed it so we could each see how each side was lining up with the end bolts.

Actually she helped out a lot with install, she likes working on cars.

You guys need to go drive the car and give your feedback. After I install something I just GOTTA go driving to see if it was worth all that efford and whether everything is working right or not

Today was the first day that I drove the car after SSV IM installed.

I can't really tell from my butt-dyno but, while driving, it seems to rev to higher rpm faster than before.

I would like to get it dyno sometime. I never have baseline dyno neither.

If I can get 30 HP from all my mods(Injen CAI, SSV IM, DC Sports header, KinetiX cat, Borla TD). I am happy.

Well; it's has been a few days after installation.

ECU might have adapted to the new IM. The car seems to take less effort to get to higher rpm.

Now I just need to get to dyno.

So has anyone with the Vortech kit had the SSV installed yet? - any after dynos? Assuming a very reputable tuner, is the A/F getting too rich still a problem? The site claims huge rwhp gains for forced induction car. If that's true, this would seem to be a very attractive mod.

it's not going to give you huge gains like 60whp - that was a car that was before with no SSV and no tuning, then after with SSV and tuning

tuning makes a huge difference sometimes

Im running it also. My tunner Z car garage said hes seen about 7-10hp gain from it. Mine was the second one he delt with. Im tunned really safe. Heres my dyno before tune on a stock SS Vortech map and the after the tune. Im not sure if Im going to keep it but it sure does look nice!

Just got back from my very first dyno. Bad news .............

Mustang Dyno: (I don't think the guy know that much about dyno the car)
180 HP 180 TQ at 3rd gear

Either this is a bad dyno or my mods took away 100 horses.

Injen CAI, Kinetix SSV IM, DC header. Kinetix HF cat, Borla TD.

What makes you think you should have 280 whp ? Although 180 seem very low . I got like 219whp with basicly the same mods except a Crawford plenum .

From what I read, 245 is for stock. Add another 30 for all the mods I have.

Is 275-280 unresonable (maybe on Dynojet)?

find a Dynojet and do a couple of runs and let us know . But your over estimating what you would get with your mods

different dyno numbers are not compatible with each other - you can't compare them really
