Default how to apply rtv gasket on kinetix plenum

hey guys, the cork gasket on my v4 plenum has cracked and fallen apart, and i have to remake the gasket with rtv silicon. question is, the type of gasket calls to apply the gasket and install the part while its wet allowing it to squeeze out to form a complete seal. now...should i apply the gasket on the keintix plenum itself, or on the lower oem plenum? and what happens if the silicon squeeze onto the inside of the plenum? do i have to worry about bits and pieces going into the engine? thanks

It doesn't matter which half (top or bottom) to put the sealant on; the sealant will adhere to both top and bottom anyway.

The excess silicone that oozes a bit into the plenum most likely won't harm anything as long as you give it time to dry and cure first. The plenum spacers have sealant oozing from them, too, if you look after a year or two of daily driving.
