Exclamation *Video* HKS Hi-Power True Dual Exhuast on our Dyno

Hello,

We're always getting inquiries about how this exhaust sounds. So, a little while ago, we put my car on the dyno and made a video clip of the exhaust note. The only other mods are our ground wires and a Gruppe-M Carbon Fiber Cold Air intake. The second video is the same mods + our resonated cat-delete pipes, taken the same day, an hour later.

I'm at home right now, so I don't have the dyno chart with me. I do remember that it was 101 degrees inside the bay, and the 1st pull it made 251whp. The second pull it made 264whp (that's just adding our resonated test pipes). I don't remember torque right now. I'll have to dig up the before and after dyno's and post them.

Anyways, the video is hosted on our friend Mike's website. He films and edits all of our racing videos. Please right click and save. Thanks!

Hello,

Thanks for the inquiry. As stated above, the only other mods were our ground wires:

And, a Gruppe-M Carbon Fiber Cold Air Intake.

Thanks again!

Darren, that sounds really good. Thanks for posting the vid. How much might a turbo quiet down that exhaust?

Also, special thanks for your excellent service on the recent orders especially for all your help with the Do-Luck bodykit. I feel really good I have placed my order with the right vendor this time.

Thanks again!
Ron

I like how the resonated test pipes didn't make it too much louder, and there wasn't any rasp...just that neat litlle "pop pop" sound. Nice!

Ron,

Thank you for your orders and your post. A turbo or turbos, in your case will have a quieting effect on this exhaust (as you know). It's difficult to relay exactly how much it softens the tone though. I know that, on our G35 coupe (GReddy TT w/ GReddy EVO 2) it's a very nice, deep growl of a tone. We need to get a sound clip/video of the car. The car is about to get a fully built motor so we'll make the clip before and after. Thanks again!

Hello,

Yes, that's the beauty of a resonated test pipe for the VQ. You get all of the power and a largely reduced level of "rasp". Thanks for the post.

Hello,

Yes, the wait time is very very lengthy for this exhaust. It's been that way the whole year, unfortunately. Thanks for the compliment, btw! The wing is made by Trial:

hey Intense

Can you get any clips of that car with the HKS Ti exhaust doing some fly by's. I would love to hear a quality clip of that exhaust driving under different throttle conditions. I am torn between the Amuse, HKS, and the fujitsubo. But, Im pretty sure the Amuse is out due to wait time, and most definately money. What do you think would be more exotic sounding? The HKS ti or the fujitsubo(and ypipe)...both with HF cats. Also, I heard these exhausts are on a national backorder. Is there any ETA released yet on the next shipments?

Hello,

Thanks for the inquiry. Good idea. Unfortunatley, we already sold this exhaust. I'm going w/ the Turbonetics S/T, and got JiC to sponsor me the 3" Ti single exhaust for it! Maybe when we have another dyno day here, I'll get clips of all types of exhausts (including the HKS) on the dyno, and while flying by.

I really do not know what the Amuse sounds like in person. We've sold it before, but never to a local customer. (By the way, considering that the last Amuse we ordered took just a tad over 90 days, ETA is very similar to HKS.. lol) Therefore, I can't tell you which one is more exotic sounding. It's full Ti, so it's definetly going to deeper, I know that. I had the VeilSide Ti on my Z before I went HKS, so I have a good reference. From what I've read, however, the status quo says that the HKS is the most "exotic" out there. Meaning, to me, that it makes the Z sound like a Lambo, or some other high-end car like that.

Yes, the HKS exhaust is on national back order. The last container with this exhaust on it arrived over 3 months ago. Since then, companies like us have been taking orders every week. You can imagine how much back order HKS USA has. Therefore, I have zero confidence, that, even in the next container from Japan, there will be any overstock. In other words, people that have pre-ordered this exhaust over the last couple of months will get theirs, and IF there's any left over, people will be fighting for them. With that said, I say, (and I tell people this everyday) if you want THIS exhaust, do yourself a favor and pre-order it. I don't care if you buy it from us, or XYZ company, pre-order it. Because, even if you don't get it in this container, you will be secured one in the next. HKS honors this method of orders. ETA on the next container, while still a little fuzzy (and we're an HKS Pro-Dealer!) is somewhere around 3 weeks....

Hope this helps!

When you put your resonated test pipes on, does th 02 sensor go back in same spot?

If so do you need a 02 simulator ?

They include a bung for the rear o2 sensor.

o2 sims don't work in the Z from what I know. HELP! brand nonfoulers work to keep the SES light away. Search them out
