Would any longterm owners like to update? How is it? Wondering if this Y-Pipe suffers from the same problems as Megan Test Pipes, ie. broken welds. Btw, are these the same ones they sell on ebay for $60?

The pipe is ****. I hate to say it because IP sponsors the boards, but I bought a Megan pipe and it doesn't even fit. I'm gonna have to take it to a muffler shop to have it hacked up to fit on my car. Even if it did fit, the quality of the pipe is absolute crap. I should take pictures of mine .

Hello,

Thanks Jorge iceburn -- Jorge is correct. We haven't sold Megan parts for a very long time now. Our y-pipes are not made by Megan. Anyways, we stand 100% by our products. Everyone of them carries a 1 year warranty. If any of the welds are compromised/cracked in that time, a replacement is sent, which also carries a 1 year warranty.

D.

I actually bought one a while back. Had a lot of problems with it being shipped out on time and getting here in one piece (gaskets/bolts missing and box torn up, IP didn't want to reimburse me for new gaskets/bolts stating it was UPS fault). When I tried installing it, the holes would not line up correctly. I didn't want to bother sending it back to them and waiting for a replacement, so I had to slightly bend the y-pipe up on one side with a jack. After almost a year, I have a pinhole crack/leak on one of the welds.

This Y-pipe was made by Topspeed. Quality not much different from the Megan's or ebay's I have seen.

I'm probably going to throw this one away and get a Tanabe y-pipe soon.

I'm catching **** from a local Z owner, saying that the pipe (which I have) is low quality and that I should take it off my car. He's saying that the design will crack my cats, etc.

I did scrape a while back and bent the cat to y-pipe flange, which gave me a leak. I fixed the sound that I posted about on a local forum and the guy is still saying that I have a bad y-pipe and that my exhaust is cracked. Does anyone have proof that these y-pipes are the worst on the market and that they will cause your other components to crack? I was thinking that was the whole point of the flex piping? I sold a stillen y-pipe with no flex pipes to get this one.

I wasn't giving you ****. You had a problem with the hissing/rattle which could of been due to a hair line crack or leaking flex joints. Even Darren the thread i posted below said that a selected few with have this problem. Other members have reported this on this y pipe s well. I never said to take it off your car. the y pipe looks just like a nismo replica and we all know the nismo y pipe has a bad design. Even ask Adam at Z1 auto with the n/a built Z.

https://my350z.com/forum/intake-exha...se-y-pipe.html

Depending on exhaust combo with high flow cats or test pipes, things can crack easily. I can buy an intense y pipe right now and i will bet my car on it that i can crack it within a week or two of driving. Either the y pipe will break or my cats will.

also, please quote me where i said to get rid of your y pipe?

that y pipe is fine on a car with just a regular exhaust. but once you mix in test pipes or high flow cats, it's a whole different ball game and things don't always go perfect.

But you have your problem fixed and Darren will take care of you when you do have a problem.

His name's actually Darren. And you wouldn't be so persistent on dissing the y-pipe if you weren't implying that I should remove it. You don't always have to directly say something for it to be clear. I'm not taking offense to it. Obviously, I'm looking for answers b/c of what you've brought to my attention.
