Default New custom parts for my Z

A company I tune for, RnR Racing, called me up and asked me to come down to San Diego for a few days to tune some customer cars and their shop car. I left the EVO at home this time and brought my 350 down. They walked a few circles around it and decided to start putting some parts together. They specialize in EVOs, DSMs, Subarus, and SRT4s, and their fab work is great, so I told them to have at it while I tuned a few cars. So far they have a set of headers done and being thermal coated right now (going on the car tomorrow), a set of resonated test pipes, and are working on a 2.5 inch dual cat back system with carbon ti mufflers. They also put together a cold air intake system.

I'm pretty surprised they jumped on it like this. They mostly deal with HIGH horsepower turbo applications, but they told me not to worry, that those will come next when I bring the car back down. Anyways, I'm looking forward to seeing what difference all this stuff makes. I am not sure if I'll always drive the car around with test pipes (too loud). I may just put them on for the dyno and see what happens.

Today I was at the dyno and they actually brought my car over to get a baseline on it with just the CAI. It made VERY smooth power to the tune of 262whp and 230wtq on 91 octane on a dyno dynamics. On the second run it made 267whp and 234wtq. The car is a Le Mans Sunset 2005 Track edition.

So, by the end of the weekend, I should have a bunch of cars tuned and have my personal Z back on the dyno too see if we can make some more power.

One thing I wanted to ask you guys is this. I assume you all like the straight tip look rather than the dual angled tip look, but what have you found to be a better performer, a TRUE dual seperate exhaust on both banks, or a Y pipe style exhaust that opens back up to dual, like an X pipe? Thats the debate we have going on right now. Any input would be appreciated. I'll check back later. I need to go tune this EVO that makes around 750whp... Street tune!!!

Hey, this is Darwin again. I'm just using the shop's computer so I'm on their account. We didn't get to finish the cat back exhaust, but we did put a Y-pipe together and bolted it to the stocker along with a set of resonated test pipes. The testpupes have a built in o2 sensor cel fix, which seems to be working so far on my 05 track. No codes or ses light thus far.

It isn't loud at all, which was a surprise to me. Even with the stock cat back I thought it would be louder. There is now a wierd hiss under accelleration and when I let off the gas. I can't seem to hear it from outside the car, just from the inside. I read though that the hiss is somewhat normal for testpipe cars. Doesn't sound like a leak, so I'm not worried.

Anyways, my butt dyno has been desensitized down here after tuning a bunch of EVOs, but the car did seem to pick up some power, especially up top.
