Instead of using a grill to keep bugs off, K&N makes a filter cover that fits over the filter to help filter out dust and bugs. They are like $10. Here is a link :

wtf is up with the Filter cover?

that's like having two filters.

so what if it gets bugs. its an air FILTER. you clean it.

if its such a tight weave, it might actually restrict air into the KN cone..

It does prevent some air flow but the cover is really thin. Alot of guys who off-road use it to help keep dust and bugs off and cloging the filter. The K&N filter type filters get bugs and crap all wedged in the crevises and are really hard to get out. It is alot easier to just slip off the cover and clean it than the filter itself.

Default Why Injen

I am new to the group. What is so good about the Injen air intake system? Why is it different from the stock air intake? Also, I live in a FLOOD zone. There is no way that I could have an air intake so low to the ground. What happens when the air intake is at the front of the engine? Hot air? No direct airflow? You have to excuse me I am new to all this modification stuff.

I dealt with many Intake systems but mainly AEM.. Does Injen make a "bypass valve similar to AEM, for flood situations..???? I don't wanna ruin my $30K investment...
