Default Exhaust System Opinions, Please!

I have permission from the Finance Officer (Wife) to upgrade my exhaust system. I have looked at several systems and have listened to every soundclip I can find here and at other sites.

I've narrowed the search down to the following and would like to get some outside opinions on these systems:
 • NISMO
 • Vibrant Street Power Cat-Back exhaust System
 • B&B Stainless Steel Exhaust
 • Fujitsubo Legalis R Exhaust
 • JIC Magic Spartan DE Type 2 Sus Series
 • Tanabe Super Medalion Hyper Exhaust System
 • Invidia G200 Titanium Tip
Gotta love some of those names!! Anyway, all of the systems use the same basic configuration as the stock exhaust system and are single exhaust systems with the exception of the Invidia G200. I'm not interested in systems that use dual rear canisters. I want the look to remain basically stock and tucked up under the car.

I'm looking for an exhaust system that sounds deep and doesn't make a bunch of interior noise. Fit and finish are important also. The only system I've heard in person is the NISMO, so I guess that's my baseline. I need to keep the price under $1K.

Your opinions and recommendations are greatly appreciated.

FYI: Fujitsubo = Nismo

In that group, for a nice quieter daily operation with a nice throaty WOT, and a stockish look, nothing beats Fujitsubo (Nismo). It even has a "Z" indented into the muffler at the back.

If you search for each cat-back you'll find multiple posts. Each member will recommend the exhaust on his car (obvious). I recommend that you attend a Z-meet, and listen before you buy.

If you don't want cabin noise, don't even consider the Tanabe Super Medallion, Hyper Medallion however should be a lot quiter from what I've heard. The Tanabe Super Medallion Racing noise levels is on par with the RSR GT-MAX II, & Top Speed Pro - 1.

Go Fujitsubo, My self have the Fujitsubo Ti. Everyone here said it's quiet on idle but if you full throttle it, it'll go quiet loud on high rpm.

Also what you mean by Fujitsubo=Nismo? They both are Complete different exhaust and sound different too. Also they are made by different company. Fujitsubo made by Fujitsubo and Nismo is made by Weldina

Cheers

I believe the nismo is made by fujitsubo. Could be wrong, but pretty sure.
Wait...I'm never wrong.

Weldina is the JDM marketing name for Nismo. All made by Fujitsubo or Nismo.
Fuji and Nismo just have different resonators, canisters, and package. (Z1 Performance, 2005)

+1 Tanabe SHM with test pipes!!! Sound is throaty, the car screams when you give it some gas. Sounds a little loader than stock at idle and on the highway. A tad bit of drone around 70mph. It's kinda loud with the test pipes but I love the sound!

Fujitsubo Legalis R Muffler is a little more restrictive then the NISMO muffler which is why it is much quieter then the NISMO...

The NISMO Exhaust keeps all the sound of the Z but a little louder...

(special on NISMO Exhaust for the end of the year

+2 haha. And I'm not just recommending it cause I have it! :P I used to have the Tanabe SMR and it was LOUD AS HELL since I have test pipes. I took off the SMR and got the Super Medallion Hyper, the car got the "Z Sound" back but it is much deeper and sounds beautiful when you punch it. If you want it to be really quiet I would recommend Fujitsubo Legalis R but if you want something not too loud but not too quiet you can't beat the Tanabe SMH with test pipes!

this may be true but i thought i read somewhere that fuji stated they improved the usdm nismo exhaust thats why they released thier own here.. if it is more restrictive maby they were talking about build quality..? if i were you id get the fuji b/c it is sold seperate from the Y pipe that you already got.. and if its quiet that might help you b/c you cut out your resonator.. maby you would regret that with a new exhaust anywho just my .02
