Does anybody have a dyno of the MREV on a 287 HP motor? I'm interested in how much the modified lower plenum helps out in addition to the spacer.

The MREV is not applicable for the 287HP engine.

I just installed this mod on my G35 and it is definately worth the $500 , hands down seat of the pants difference. When you push the gas halfway the car pulls you alot more then it did before - its like having a VTEC turning on at 3500 RPM - all i have is a stillen cai + ztube and its amazing. Cant wait to see how it performs when my HKS exhaust comes in :P Might I add that my MPG also jumped from 15-17.5 =D If you can install an air intake you can install this. Took about 1hr 30mins ( be careful not to over torque the bolts ) I did 90 inch lbs. Great mod , TOTALLY different car ...the intake sounds alot more powerful and louder now. Im a huge fan

Why wouldn't it? I thought it uses a modified 287 lower plenum? Are you saying the gains in addition to the spacer is minimal to justify the additional cost for 287 peeps?

With a spacer already in place and on a 287 engine, the modified lower plenum will bring you closer to 1/2" spacer performance. On the 287 engine, the 1/2" spacer produces 1-1.5 HP more than the 5/16" spacer.

The added clearance from the modified collector doesn't bring it to 1/2", but its pretty close. Its just one way to squeeze a little more juice out of it.

Its listed as an option on the website because some want the best value and some want as much power as they can get. This way you can have it any way you want.

Specifically, the MREV mod is for the Rev Up motor, hence MREV. It uses the 287 lower collector but adding on the 5/16 on the 287 motor will not give the same gains as on a Rev Up motor. The 287 motor has no exhaust variable valve timing, the lower collector on the Rev Up motor has shorter runners and changing it to the longer runners of the 287 lower collector is where most of that power is made and the added spacer will help reduce the power loss you get on top.

If I'm trying to improve my straightline time, will this mod hurt or improve it?

No, if anything it will improve it. You will notice a good amount of power gained in the lower to mid range.

My car was modified with the following mods in addition with the MREV mod when the dyno was done PRE/POST; JWT Popcharger, UR Crank pulley, UTR stainless steel headers, Crawford Cats, Nismo exhaust, Nismo Grounding kit.

This mod would not be ideal for guys who track their cars frequently due the power loss in the higher rpm range. You would want to utilize the RevUp motors ability to rev to 7000 rpm and use the extra HP that you get up top from the Rev Up motor. Though in my honest opinion, the HP loss up top is very minimal and does not feel any different with the Rev Up lower plenum. The amount of power you gain in the mid range definitely justifies the loss power up top for a daily driver. Adding the MREV to your RevUp motor will make your car a lot more funner to drive as a daily driver like myself. With all the mid range torque, it makes more sense to have that useable power in daily traffic conditions where you rarely would rev your car up to 7000 rpm, but you still have that option.

This mod makes more sense for someone like myself or other guys who daily drive their Z's. I commute 100+ miles a day from home to work and the car will hardly see the track during the year. If you do decide to go the track, you always have the option of throwing the Rev Up lower plenum back on.

Do you have a baseline dyno without exhaust or headers? I am trying to decide if I should pop for headers since it looks really annoying to install them.
