What's the average gains that people are getting from NISMO exhaust?

I have the NIMO CAI, HEADERS, EXHAUST...and it sounds....boss...
I have been on several Z runs and always asked about the setup when they hear the car as I come in. I don't look at the $ as some above do. It's the car I look at and what I want it to do and how I want it to perform or sound.

For your money, in addition to the horsepower and sound, the Nismo exhaust is more durable all stainless steel construction and weighs 9 pounds less than the stock system.

The Nismo exhaust can be found for less than a grand and no exhaust for the Z is going to get you much in the power to cost area. The stock system although smaller in tubing and lacking mandrel bends is not all that restrictive. The Borla gets 8 hp but cost less and had a smidgen less torque, the Stillen gets 8 but weighs and cost more.

If you want low cost (relative to other Z parts, not chevy 350 parts) performance, look at the MD 5/16 plenum spacer and iso thermo gasket, so far that seems to be the best bang for your buck mod for under $300 but it wont make your car sound any faster and it wont really be any thing to look at either.

Actually I paid $25 for it!

I like the Nismo exhaust but it is way overpriced! Show me where I can get it for less than $1000.00 shipped?

If it was in the $600-750 range I would buy it, but not the $1000.00 shipped price of most vendors!

Come on 6 HP for $1000.00 is laughable!

And don't say $950.00

I would love to help you out but the local Stevens Creek Nissan dealership sold me mine for $825 from the parts department to the back of the Pathfinder (so I guess I did the shipping personally).

600 - 750 puts you in range of Injen and Borla, if I was going strictly for performance I would get the Borla, for looks the Injen but in my opinion neither of them have all three, performance, looks and the right sound.

And the Nismo fits, do the others really "fit" as well during installation without, ahem, "issues"?

I got my exhaust for the sound and a hair less weight than stock. Getting a few HP is a nice bonus.

If installed correctly, none of the exhausts should give you problems. Install them sloppily then...

i think i might go w/ nismo, i have a friend that can prob get me a good price. but we shall see. its hard to justify that much $ on mainly the sound of your car but i figure thats one less thing i will need to get once i go FI and i'm sure i will notice more gains out of the exhuast.

The Nismo is great but if you go FI you will want to swap it out. But at least you could sell it for a decent amount of $.
