Default MREV problems

Hi all,
I just finished installing MREV. First off, the engine is about 10 times louder and gowls much more. That's the good part. the bad part is that the idle keeps fluctuating from 1000 to 800 rpm. In addition, I'm getting a very loud sequaling noise, like a small compressed stream of air. I have no idea why this is coming. I took out the stock intake and put it back. the noise stopped at idle, but came back the second I accelerated, and stayed there. Have any of you had this problem?

Thanks,
Johnny

Its a air leak but its also easy to fix.

The most common causes are:
A hose not installed back in place.
The oil fill grommet is pinched in between the plenum mating surfaces.
The gasket is installed with a piece folded over itself.
Or the bolts supplied in the kit are not all installed or properly torqued.

Run your hand around the circumference of the plenum sealing surfaces and listen for any change in sound. If you hear a change in sound while moving your hand over the plenum it will indicate where the leak is.

Ya you must have a leak becuause mine isn't loud at all and the idle does not flucuate. I would make sure all your bolts are in tight and all your hose connections are snug fit.

Yeah, sounds like some sort of vacuum leak. Do check all hoses, which you had removed prior and the oil fill thingy. I actually had removed that rubber piece that sits around the oil fill neck because it looked like it might be a problem when I reinstalled the upper collector. Afterwards, it is simply snapped back into place.

My car idles smoothly at 600 rpm. I trust you will resolved your situation quickly. Good luck!
