A plenum spacer is a part, or a spacer, that fits inbetween the intake plenum and the intake manifold. The whole point of using one is to correct the inbalance in the airflow between the intakes for all 6 cylinders. The stock plenum was engineered with a fault, in that the front two cylinders do not receive as much air as the other 4. The spacer helps to correct this, and in theory gives the motor the power it SHOULD have.

Plenum spacers are also cheap alternatives to aftermarket plenums. I have a spacer and it works great. Not too expensive, and it keeps the factory strut tower bar. Some aftermarket plenums may work better (crawford, kinetix, etc.) but they are more expensive, and some require an alternate strut tower bar (one that clears the new plenum). Hope that cleared some things up, next time just search and read and Im sure you'll find the answer.

Hey Blurr350z, are there ##'s available for the plenum spacers/aftermarket plenums as far as hp gain and cost? Thanx. Also, I see you have the AAM spacer. Would you get it again or get something else (in hind sight)? Thanx.

all the spacers do the same thing and are practically identical, Skunk2 makes a cheaper one which i would have gotten if it was out when i first bought mine. Ide say they give you about 5hp?
