Default Your preference on which intake? (1, 2, or 3?)

Which do you think is the better investment and why?

1. K&N 63 Intake

2. Nismo Air Intake

3. JWT Pop Charger

I tell you one thing, the Nismo looks the nicest, BUT lets talk performance.

I believe the JWT has the best proven gains. However, I had an AEM CAI (same as the Nismo) and it's sound was freaking killer! If it didn't rain and flood so much here I wouldn't have gotten rid of my AEM. I went with the JWt out of default.

Performance: JWT
Sound: AEM

Typhoon wins by best design..

JWT draws too much from under the hood.

JWT, typhoon or injen. They all have good gains.

i doubt any of these would have much in the way of gains. 1-3 whp, or perhaps a loss even. the only nice thing about a short ram is being able to clean your filter when it gets dirty, instead of replacing it.

imo, i think you stand to gain more keeping the factory setup and getting a plenum, or plenum spacer.. really with just buying a new filter or intake sytem you still have the stock restrictive plenum problem.. i mean if the plenum is stock and its restricting the flow to the manifold, how is an aftermarket intake system gonna give you any more air flow?? i think you should first free up the restriction with a spacer, or a crawford plenum.. just my opinion, someone correct me if im wrong..

i have the Typhoon, and i gotta say it only add hp when the air is cool outside

but stuck in traffic on a hot day i do notice some heat soak and loss of throttle crispness. But then as the traffic moves and u get the air rushing up through the grille it feels all good again

id hate to imagine what the exposed jwt would feel like in the same situation sucking in all that hot underbonnet air

what is the K&N 63?

i changed the filter on the Typhoon, and fit a K&N inverted top, my theory being the cold air pickup will ram cool air straight into the centre of the filter, rather than sucking air from the sides of the airbox. I clean it every 2 months, takes all of 30 seconds to remove........how much of a ball breaker is the injen filter to remove
