Borla: Will give you mid range power... not so much up top / peak horse power... They are not equal length headers...

DC Sports: Living in Jersey, dont get ceramic coated mild steel headers... The salt on the road will rust them to bits... Get the Stainless steel... For EVERYTHING you get in your exhaust get STAINLESS STEEL and make sure you use STAINLESS STEEL HARDWARE... you will probably have to buy new hardware specially...

DC Headers are great for the money, make power across the full RPM range, equal length, and 50 STATE LEGAL!

Thats what I went with, was very happy...

good luck!

try strup headers!
they are almost exact copies of nismo headers and they are very economic to get your hands on...
you can find them on sale through our vendors (marketplace section)
you will get great gains from them (as i said)

So what kind of differences are to be expected between stainless steel DC headers and the normal ones ?

Mild Steel headers will work fine in New Jersey, IF they are first coated with Jet Hot. Got my Crawfords coated, and Jet Hot did a great job.

BTW, from everything I've read on the subject, the Borla is the worst power producing header you can buy, not much better than the stock manifold. I would stay away from Borla. For a low priced header go with DC or Strup, for the Best, Crawford. But you pay dearly for the best.

Pict. of my Crawfords with Jet Hot standard coating before install.

WRONG - There is a difference. Look at the construction. The Crawfords have 22" equal length tubes feeding a true collector. The inexpensive ones have unequal length shorter tubes feeding a larger merge tube that is not a true collector. Strup is a good inexpensive header, but it's not in the same league as Crawford.

I think that for the price Strup headers are very good... I have seen dyno's and driven in cars with the strup headers insalled and they are noticable.

YES - Crawford IS the way to go. I held up buying mine for over a year, weighing the pros and cons of an inexpensive header vs. the Crawford. I have the rest of the Crawford package also (Plenum and Cats). In the end I figured, if I'm going to put in such a tough to install mod, I should get the best. IMO, I WAITED far to long. I have an '03, and the headers have been on about 8 months now, my drive home from the shop was great. We did a dyno before I left, and I peaked at 248+HP.
