is a tune needed
I am awaiting my 5/16 spacer and a UR Pulley to go along with the mods I already have (see sig) do you guys think i could benefit from a tune after all is said and done....i probably won't get any more mods after this.
thanks
thanks
One thing I notice about your mods is that you seem to have leaned heavily on the intake side. If you have the money, headers, test pipes or high-flow catalytic converters will help. Will a tune add horsepower? Maybe. But more importantly, a tune will insure that you are not starved for fuel at red line.
yeah, i will probably get some test pipes soon....i don't know about headers yet as i've read that the labor will cost big bucks......once im done with my mods i want to get it tuned but im not sure which to go with.....i don't want to spend 900 bucks on a utec and only get a few more hp out of it....i know i will need to get it dynoed so should i just have them tune it?
u dont need a tune.
a tune is really only needed on a n/a car once u get cams. but a tune will add more hp and smooth out the curve.
if u feel uncomfortable with the mods, get a dyno with af. if u go higher than 13.8-14.0 in the upper rpm range >~5000 rpms, then u need to get tuned. the z is pig rich from the factory so u should be fine.
