I dont see how you can even be considering crawford and strup... the price is so much different! Anyway I personally would do strup but many people on here are probably going to say both nismo and crawford

I think it has been pretty well proven that Crawfords make more power. The are probably the most expensive, but if you are looking for power, get it. I know some people went with others and later switched to the Crawfords. They are a bear to install, I've installed 3 sets on friends cars, and not looking forward to installing them on mine. Big PITA. They are harder to install because they are a long tube header in a shortie header package. The Crawford headers have, I think, 26.5" equilength runners. That is a lot of pipe to shove in a small space. The reason th elegth matters is that it helps create more scavaging in the exhaust that pulls more air thru the heads. More air = more power. Most of the other headers for the Z have runners that are much shorter, except for the Xerds. The shorter runners do not promote as much scavaging as the long runners. The Xerd headers have 28" runners and they are a true long tube header style, taking the place of the cats as well.

Hope this helps.

Bryan

Strup headers when they first came out were saying something like 21+ hp but that was a bogus claim. So I wouldnt want to go with those.

Crawford if you got $$$ and extra $$$ for the install.

Strups are probably the best alternative, IMO. A lot of folks hate on them because of the price and the belief that Crawfords are the only headers in the world that produce gains. But those who actually own the Strup headers are all satisified with the increase in power whether it be butt dyno or load based dyno.

Check out DC headers, Stillen, maybe even Borla. Best thing to do is narrow it down to the headers you can afford, their claimed gains vs. gains by people on this board and then factor in how much its going to cost you to install

Good luck!

I'm the one who posted the before and after dyno charts of the Strup headers. Strup never claimed 21hp, that is @ what I gained! Strup says that they should give about 12-14 hp gain which is similar to other headers claims. I happened to gain more than that.

https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....ers+difference

Read the entire post. If anyone has any questions you can pm me.

If you read the entire post you will see that even when someone like myself does everything properly to get an accurate before and after dyno people question it. I can tell you that I won't go through the hassle and expense of a before and after dyno again just to have it declared, by most as BS.
