Default Dual vs. single exhaust

I am looking at buying or having some exhaust bent for my Z soon. I am wondering if it is worth getting dual exhaust or if there really isn't any noticable difference. I grew up around old V8's so the V makes me want to go dual but since i'm new the tuner scene, any advice is helpful. Thanks.

I doubt if you will see any performance difference in say a 3-inch single exhaust or dual 2 1/2-inch exhaust. Not often do I comment about sound, but I think that the sound of a dual exhaust is only right choice for a V engine design.

You do not want to open the exhaust too much when running NA because you will lose power on the low end and only gain marginally on top. I would recommend a dual for FI application and single for NA. Our recent dyno test showed the Helix 70mm exhaust made some good whp on a stock 350z.

Thanks,
Tom
