I think it basically is. It supposedly creates a vortex once it passes through the spacer which should make the air cooler. Cooler air= better A/F mixture=a lil more horsepower, but I would think that once it reached the intake plenum it would lose that spinning vortex, and do absolutely nothing, but hey, what do I know, I'm not a physics engineer. i believe the v8 guys (mainly the gm engines) use these quite frequently actually. it essentially adds an inch between the throttle body injection unit and intake manifold i believe, kind of like the same principle of our plenum spacers (i believe- i dont know first hand). i wasnt even aware there was a market for making these for the vq- who is the manufacturer?
