Lightbulb New headers/heat problems ?

I'm going to enter in 2 weeks a road rally. The last part I need to upgrade are the headers.

Before buying headers for my Z, I was just wondering if some of you got some over heating problem in the engine bay with any after market headers ?

Remember you have to remove the 2 stock heatshields when you install aftermarket headers. You have the fuel line very close and many other wires...

Also during long highway drive at over 80 mph (500 miles) did someone notice any overheating prb with aftermarket headers ?

Thanks,

Jerome

You can always get heat tape and wrap them when you install. people have c/o increased heat in the hood, and the problem would be worse if you are racing. heat tape or thermal coat will prevent most of the heat issues. also, remember to use new gaskets and get the headers retorqued a week down the road (as davidv will know)
