Question Headers installed...now I can’t steer!

I just had my headers installed and my steering is all messed up. Seems that the header is being hit by my steering system and won’t allow me to steer the car without some difficulty. I am not even close to a technical guy but I am headed back to the shop today and they want to bang the header to get "clearance". Please help.

Thanks

sounds like somebody ****ed up the install

btw, for what it's worth, my steering wheel vibrates like a ***** at idle with my headers.....must be because of the increased air flow causes them to vibrate them they're close to the steering column.

My steering wheel vibrates but when I turn it feels like it is hitting real bad it takes some real effort to get a full rotation and its obvious that it hits only at a certain point because it loosens up and then gets difficult again.

sounds like smething's messed with your power steering......didn't you notice that when you left the shop after the install (or did it just develop gradually)

It started once the car warmed up. I think the headers expanded with the heat and made it rub. But I am not sure. It wanst doing it when I left the shop but after 5-10min driving it started and got real bad real quick.

Check my post titled headers and high-flow cats installed. I have included photos of the steering linkage and coupler. That will give you an idea of the clearance needed. I doubt that the headers are the problem. I suspect that the steering linkage was not installed properly.

Nothing is wrong with the install, its the headers. I just went through this with that aftermarket junk! I bought some headers off of ebay and they hit the shaft. In the end I got the shaft!

Yeah Im trying to get my cash back. Its not going to great. I was lucky cause I was putting a motor in the car and the headers were easy to get to.

Well, they had to disconnect your steering linkage to install them, my bet is that they messed that up.

And hold the motor under one arm while you install the headers with the other.
