Default Nismo Air Filter -

Anyone know anything about this? I've seen pictures of it in the Nismo online catalog. Where can I get on, and how much will it cost?
Thanks,
Mika

You can order one from www.courtesyparts.com. They don't have it listed on their site but if you call them they have it. It is $100 and $117 with shipping.

Holy crap! What does it do that a regular air filter doesn't? For that price it had better be good....
Do you have any technical knowledge of it?
Thanks,
Mika

I don't know any techy stuff on it. All I know is that it is not reusable. As far as performance I have know idea if its better that K&N or any other filter. I do know my car ran somewhat better on it. It had a better response and seems to rev easier.

three words:
Not woth it.

Ok let me elaborate. The NISMO filter is just a filter like any other...
Its not going to do much in terms of performance, perhaps 1-2 PEAKhp.

Get a CAI, or even a regular intake, hell even a K&N filter (which is the same damn thing) for like $50 .

Personally, I don't like K&N filters because of the possibility of Mass Air Meter oil contamination. This is debatable however.

Also, I firmly believe that the stock 350Z intake is already optimized and IS cold air induction. It's one of the best intakes I've ever seen for a stock car. I don't think there is much to be gained here. A little, but not much as has been demonstrated already in the dynos.

I recently obtained the NISMO performance paper air filter. It flows 30% more air without the risk of oil problems.

Did you obtain the regular Nismo filter or the S-tune filter?

I sell the NISMO filter for $80 and I also feel it is overpriced. Blitz has the same style filter and also the same excellent quality at half the price. Guess it really up to which tuner you want to support. Some products are truely worth the extra $$$, but in this case I can't see it.

Go to www.blitz.co.jp and in the products section under air filter click on the sus power air filter LM. They have a total of 4 different types of air filters for the Z.

Thanks. I would buy the filter if they had a way to order. That's part of the problem.
