Default Hi-Flow Cats

What is the latest update on HFC's for our Z's?

It has been a couple of weeks since anyone has even mentioned the development of a pair for our cars, and I'm hoping someone has an update, or even better, the name of the manufacturer to contact!

It seems like the cats are one of the most restrictive parts of our exhaust, and they would compliment a cat-back awesomely!

I'm hoping someone will build a header-HFC combination.
Is anyone working on this?

Really? A'pexi?

That is supposed to be an awesome brand!
Is it available now?

Holy crap!
Thanks for the tip. I'm on my way to their web site right now.

I did a word search and got NOTHING.
I guess the next logical question would be about performance gains, but I'm sure I'll see that on their site.

Thanks again.

Hmmmm....

I see you have edited your post.

I downloaded the picture and it looks like quality stuff.

One problem: ours has this silly bend in them that I don't see in the picture.

I guess the bend is going to take some engineering to work around.
A'pexi is usually on the ball, so I'm sure if they already have one for the Skyline that ours should not be far behind.

Hi-Flow Cats would kick serious ***. Specially with the Top Secret Titanium Y-Pipes. I am very interested on getting my hands on some.

That is encouraging to hear, but it is not curved either.

Maybe they have figure out a way (such as relocation) that negates the need for the curvature found in the factory unit?

Thanks.

That isn't going to fit...

The Z34 has a bend in the piping... thus in all actuality we have four small cats. Two contained in each pipe.

Four small cats? No kidding? Where can we learn more about this?

Thanks for the input.

Awesome!

That looks like it is for our car!
Where did you get those pics?
Who makes them?

Those would go GREAT with headers followed by a nice cat-back for a full exhaust!

Woo Hoo!

Basically the same thing as the factory cats, but with less resistance, providing a higher/faster flow, preventing the gases from cooling before exiting the exhaust.

The cats should be the most restrictive part of our exhaust system. HFC's are far less restrictive but (in most states) will allow you to pass the emissionn standards and not throw an engine light (from the O2-sensors) keeping the ECU out of "safe mode."

Focus on something other than catalytic converters. Minimal gains, more honda-esque sound, and a bothersome shift in the character of the RPM decceleration. It generally causes the exhaust to burble much more on release of the gas, and pauses for a moment before dropping the RPM's. Every high flow cat I have played with on my cars since my first has created this, and it hinders heel 2 toe ability for the RPM's arent predictable as they once were.
