technically that is the first stage AFE intake I guess...

the 2nd version has a larger filter the size around the pop charger...

The saddest thing of all is that there are currently 2 bids on this piece.

I'm on a tight budget, so I might just go w/ the Stage 1 intake for like 10whp and 10ft/lbs. torque for now, because I already bought the eBay Tony's burnt tip exhaust.

Actually while the claims were a bit ridiculous, the quality of the intake is very good. I got one back during the original thread just for Sh*ts-n-giggles. It is well made and the filter is of good quality.

It did have a fitment issue back then, but AFE sent a complete 2nd kit to me that was suppossedly modified to fit better. I never did the swap out and its sitting in the garage. I'll get to it someday.

Overall as good an intake as any if you can get it at a good price. Retail is rediculous at $571! Performance wise its the same "subtle if any" increase, just like all the rest.

Don't Buy it, don't follow the estimated hp and torque, stay with your pop charger, you are just going to waste money

Are you sure you're not confusing them with AEM?

Until the initial thread on that intake appeared, most people had never heard of them and supposedly it had been on the market for quite some time. Considering the ridiculous claims on some of their other intakes (+40 on a BMW, IIRC), people weren't surprised when the whole deal was debunked.

I think the AFE thread ranks second to the Twins thread in the annals of MY350Z.com history.
