Smile AFE Cold Air Intake

Hey guys... Im a noob to this forum, this is actually my first post and I had a question regarding the intake. I just bought a new 2006 350z black coupe and wanted to do some engine modding to get my HP up a little bit more. I am currently looking at this intake system http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/pe...5&brandid=1646 it says it gets you 19 hp and 21 lb Ft Of Torque. Is this bs or has someone tried it?

Welcome.

There are several popular intakes for the 350Z (including pop charger and AEM). You will also find many off-brand intakes (AFE?) such as you have. Read and study the forum. If you are convinced that the AFE intake offers some unique advantage over the others, buy it.

Get pop charger. It's the best intake out there. I even had stall problem with HKS RS Intake before I switched to Pop charger. Here's mine

I had both NISMO (AEM) and the JWT. I found the NISMO got dirty very quickly and was a pain in the butt to clean being behind the wheel skirt. The JWT was good, and had easy access. I found that I couldn't position it without it rubbing on something though... could be just me. I'd recommend the JWT.

As for performance gains, it should be about the same. One forum member measured temps and said above 15 mph, ther was no difference.

Good luck.

Probably the A/C line, that's the closest thing I can think of.
