Default unplugging throttle body sensor before disconnecting battery

anyone know if this is true/false....have you guys disconnected the sensor and reconnected with no problems while the battery is plugged in?

"DO NOT UNPLUG THE SENSOR ON THE THROTTLE BODY UNLESS THE BATTERY NEGATIVE CABLE IS DISCONNECTED FROM THE BATTERY TERMINAL (run this by your tech for a sanity check), if you do so, you will more than likely have to have it re-calibrated by a Nissan/Infiniti Dealer."

It's a good idea to disconnect the battery before unplugging any sensors or other electrical units. It's an easy way to throw a CEL. The recalibration process is fairly simple, you can do it yourself if necessary.

thanks for the quick reply Dave.

I don't have a CEL, when you mentioned the recalibration process, do you mean doing the

accelerator pedal release position learning
throttle valve close position learning
idle air volume learning

with turning the ignition on/off and doing the pedal steps....

and will doing a ECU reset recalibrate everything for me?

i have done every possible combination like, unplugging with battery disconnected, with the batery connected, with ignition on, and you will through a code with the ignition on, but thats about it. very simple to recalibrate though. just turn the ignition on for 5 seconds, then off for 10, then on for 5 then off for another 10, then you are set to go.

Before messing with any sensor or electronic component disconnect the battery.
